36 Enactus National Champion teams represented their countries at the Enactus World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa, October 14-16. Each team presented the results of their community outreach projects to a prestigious group of international business leaders. The high caliber of entrepreneurial projects for social impact presented at the Enactus World Cup have been remarkable with over 2 million people impacted over the past year through the global Enactus. EVENT HIGHLIGHTS Enactus World Cultural Festival Students from each Enactus country displayed their native traditions and customs allowing everybody to experience the diverse cultures within Enactus network. Enactus Russia Team set up a Russian photo booth. To take a photo in a traditional Russian attire in the heart of Moscow each participant had to learn a Russian word.
World Cup Opening Ceremony The official opening to World Cup 2015 started with an amazing performance showing a unique view of South Africa, followed by the welcoming speech of a new Chairman of the Enactus Worldwide Board of Directors Kees Kruythoff (President, North America Unilever). A Parade of Nations featured each of the participating countries on the global stage. Enactus Russia delegation, presenting the country.
Competition Rounds The National Champion teams from each country presented the results of the ideas they turned into action through their community empowerment projects, which were evaluated by business executives serving as judges. Enactus Russia National Champion, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, presented the project focused on a smart waste management system. Judges comments on Russian team project and presentation: Great idea with severe impact! Great project that has included everyone in the country from young children to senior citizens. You have managed to make it exciting for all. Waste management is really about a change of mindset and you managed to make it attractive whilst highlighting the needs, the advantages and the profitability. Your success with inspiring people to recycle and improving the process and volume of recycling is impressing. This project has a great potential. A very strong project and the business model was clearly explained. It addresses a large problem in the community and it will be interesting to see how the project develops especially as it is replicated in other parts of Russia. Great project to spread across and further! A brilliant and very clear presentation. Very good use of storytelling and analogies to bring it to life.
Innovation Stations The event sponsors hosted special areas, where the participants could learn more about the culture of those companies and experience the innovative approaches taking to solve real world problems through entrepreneurial action. Action Leaders Forum A special forum where a panel of top executives discussed opportunities for taking meaningful action to address important global issues such as food, water & energy security, women s economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. Top to Future Top Forum Interactive sessions for executives and students led by World Cup Host Country Sponsors to discuss important global issues. Ivan Sidorok, the Chairman of Enactus Russia Board of Directors, the member of the Вoard of Directors of NMGK Group of Companies and the Managing Partner of Wilmar Nizhny Delta, took part in Top to Future Top Forum discussing the food security issue.
