CPOE Reminders from the Pharmacy Department 1) When ordering any Pain Medication remember to always use the CONV PAIN MANAGEMENT order set. If you haven t already done so, click the flag to add it to your favorites so you can easily access it there. If you need assistance in doing so, please call 22109. Using this order set for pain management ensures proper routing on the pharmacy side and full pain coverage for your patient. 2) For heparin IV infusion orders - when heparin IV infusion should be stopped temporarily for procedures, please do NOT use the "hold" function or Communication Miscellaneous nursing order to hold heparin infusion. Pharmacy does not get the resume orders and this results in a delay of therapy. To prevent this delay, please DISCONTINUE the heparin infusion order for procedures and ENTER NEW heparin order via CPOE if the patient is to continue after their procedure.
