ATHLETICS ATHLETIC PROGRAM NEWS Each year CHS's Athletic Program works to provide an essential source of revenue to subsidize its numerous teams. It does this primarily through the fundraising efforts of its annual Raffle. This year s Raffle prizes include: 3 rd place - $500, 2 nd place - $1000 and 1 st place $7500. The sale of tickets for this year's Raffle began in late October when the first tickets were issued to families of Fall Sport athletes. All tickets will be sold or bought by families. Tickets will be issued to the parents of Winter and Spring Sport athletes as soon as team rosters are completed at the beginning of each season. However, additional tickets will still remain to be sold so that our 2017-2018 Raffle can realize the success that is much-needed by our athletic program. If you, as the parent of an athlete or not, can assist in the sale of any unassigned tickets, your support will be invaluable and will help tremendously to underwrite our very successful and beneficial athletic program. Our hope is to sell all tickets by March 1, 2018. Please call Athletic Director, Richard LaBounty, at 436-6400 ext. 112 to obtain tickets. The drawing will be held at the PTA Meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. CHARISMA - YEARBOOK NEWS The Charisma staff is excited to celebrate Catholic High School! Every year, the staff is made up of juniors and seniors. This year, Charisma is led by senior editors Molly McGuire and Brittan Hill. Feel free to contact the yearbook advisor, Mrs. Aryn Bordelon, at abordelon@pensacolachs.org if you have any questions about the yearbook. Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s) of Catholic High Seniors, Your senior has reached the final destination of his/her high school journey. Long after this year becomes a distant memory, the images and words you share will remain in the pages of the 2018 Charisma. A Senior Love Ad is a permanent reminder of your senior s final year at CHS and includes not only the photos you choose, but also your caring words of encouragement, faith, praise, and thanksgiving. Love Ads are for sale online now through January 3 of 2018. CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL MAKES A DIFFERENCE FOR THE 23rd CONSECUTIVE YEAR! It was 23 years ago that Catholic High celebrated its first Make a Difference Day! This year more than 400 students and 125 Crusader parents headed in 24 different directions in the Pensacola community continuing our tradition of making a difference. Projects were completed by a host of energetic and motivated volunteers with the only disagreement being voiced by the project chairs-- ALL insistent that theirs was the best project and their workers were the hardest working! Catholic High's MADD projects have historically been selected as the best in Northwest Florida. In addition, our very first MADD in 1995 was honored as one of the Top 50 MADD projects in the nation. In 2002 we were one of the Top TEN National Honorees and received the Make A Difference Day Award in recognition of your commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. The projects this year and the chairs whose tireless efforts made this year's MADD the HUGE success that it was were: Barktoberfest to benefit the Humane Society (Yvonne Harmon), fall carnivals at two of our Partners-in-Education--Global Learning Academy (Becky Libbert) and Oakcrest Elementary (Betty Ronald McDonald House reefs with Go-Pro Cameras on Dead Man's Island (Cathy Butler, Amy Mixon, and Heather Reed), creating games on a covered patio at ARC Gateway (Marci Hill), gardening project at the Community Garden (Christina Talbert), and tearing down and rebuilding the CHS south end zone fence (April Sanderson). Thanks also to Laura Toellner whose Habitat for Humanity project was canceled because of soggy ground!!! It is an honor to have our efforts benefit so many individuals and agencies in Northwest Florida. A huge thank you to Debbie and Robin Christensen with Modern Woodmen of America for their generous donation in support of MADD. And a VERY special thanks to Rhonda Iserman, Angie Hollis, and Jane Moseley our overall MADD chairpersons for leading Catholic High in making a difference in the Pensacola community for the 23rd year! Stearns), projects at three of our Catholic elementary schools St. John s (Linda Robison), Sacred Heart (Patrice Majewski), and Little Flower (Conni Carter), building six picnic tables for local non-profits (Lisa Fabbro and Stan Gasi), orchestrating activities at Rosewood Manor Health and Rehab Center (Mary Catherine Richardson), organizing cleanup projects at two historic cemeteries St. John s (Michelle Hulett) and St. Michael s (Hill and Maria Goodspeed), collecting wish list items for the Ronald McDonald House at Sam s Club (Denise Compton), preparing lunch at the Ronald McDonald House (Maureen and Joseph Leccese), conducting 2 car washes to fund our projects (Mark Massie and Pam Glazer), cooking for our hungry participants (Leslie and Tim McGuire), grounds projects at the Leaning Post Ranch in Molino for special needs children (Elizabeth Payne), making toiletry baskets and working on the grounds at the Alpha Center (Catharine Provosty), planting vegetation and filming artificial Page 9 of 11 Leaning Post Ranch Jewelry Making at GLA

CATHOLIC HIGH 2017-2018 GIFT-GIVING CAMPAIGN For the past 29 years, contributions to the Catholic High Annual Gift-Giving Campaign have made a significant difference to the improvements and accomplishments made at CHS. Gifts to the 2017-2018 campaign ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our students as they grow intellectually and spiritually with the expansion of vital programs.
