REPORT ON WORKSHOP - GET SET GO START UP Organized jointly by A. D. Patel Entrepreneurship Development Club (AEDC) icreate & Venturexplore Development of entrepreneurship skills is very important for the economic health and development of any country. It also plays a very important role in the national socio-economic transformation. Entrepreneurship career is full of challenges. Prosperity and success require hard work. No pain no gain. Entrepreneurial activity involves: getting an idea, developing this idea, market research, manage the resources and implementation of the idea. A. D. Patel Entrepreneurship Development Club (AEDC) planned to celebrate its Annual Day by organizing a workshop where in students could be apprised of various functions required to be performed, if they go far Entrepreneurship as a Career Option. For this purpose AEDC organized workshop titled GET SET GO START UP in collaboration with icreate & Venturexplore on 16 th of April 2015. This Workshop was arranged with a motive to guide the students how they can identify their innovative ideas and build up entrepreneurial skills. The expert faculty members Mr. Ankit Machhar & Mr. Swarup Pandya from icreate & Mr. Umang and Ms. Ishani from Venturexplore conducted the workshop.

The workshop commenced with a brief report of activities of A. D. Patel Entrepreneurship Development Club by Mr. Monarch Shah, Student President of AEDC. During last year (AY 2014-15) AEDC organized nine programs and a 3-day workshop on Entrepreneurship Development. This workshop included training on entrepreneurial skills development, sharing of experience with first generation entrepreneurs and live interaction through Skype with Honourable Vice chancellor of GTU Dr Akshay Agrawal. Mr. Monarch Shah also introduced the participants about the current workshop. Seventy five students of different branches of engineering from ADIT & other colleges participated in the current workshop. Prof. Vasdev Singh, Faculty Convener, A.E.D.C. welcomed all the persons who were present.

Workshop was initiated by Mr. Ankit Machhar. He explained what entrepreneur and entrepreneurship actually means. Students participated in the discussion great interest. He also discussed in detail about next gen entrepreneurship and how to generate an idea. He conducted activities like Team Foundation, Empathy Map, Stakeholders Analysis Matrix and Problem Statement with active participation of students. Afternoon Session was conducted by Venturexplore team. Venturexplore have developed a game, first of its kind, for training in Entrepreneurship Development. This game explains the myths and truths about entrepreneurship and was developed to enhance the problem solving ability of students by providing certain virtual adverse situations. Students took very active part in this activity and played the game with enthusiasm. This activity was organised in IT lab.

Last session of the workshop was conducted by Mr. Swarup Pandya. He discussed about the use of Javelin Board with the help of a Case Study and explained how to resolve the various issues encountered by an entrepreneur; the exercise was performed by students in groups. The concluding session was by Mr. Ankit Machhar. He informed the participants about the facilities created at icreate for entrepreneurship skills development of aspiring candidates. icreate provide guidance and help to identify ideas, developing and implementation of plans for starting their own enterprise. At the end of the workshop, Principal Dr. R. K. Jain blessed thee students and Prof. Vasdev Singh urged the students to join AEDC club for next year to explore this very fascinating career option. Certificate of participation along with a CD of the

entrepreneurship game (Prepared by ventureexplore) was distributed among the participants. Mr. Deep Gosai, Student secretary proposed vote of thanks. Participants of this workshop gave encouraging feedback: 87% of participants gave positive feedback about the workshop and the remaining 13% have suggested that network facilities in the IT lab need improvement. Overall, feedback was good. Aim of our AEDC club is to inspire and develop entrepreneurship skills among students and to give more and more successful entrepreneurs to the society. They will create jobs and help the society in economic growth, development and better standard of living.
