Key Ingredients to a Successful Essay
The essay needs to reveal an understanding of how you came to achieve your growth and understanding. Take your experiences and link them to the criteria and qualifications sought from the Scholarship/bursary of interest.
The essay must do more than list your experiences. You will need to share examples that reveal attributes like leadership, creativity, perseverance, etc..
Successful essays highlight individual life experiences. Sharing your own DEFINING moments is powerful
for a District/Authority Award Reference Letters ONE supporting Reference Form from a PMSS Teacher ONE Letter Of Reference from a member of the community ONE Nomination Form from a PMSS teacher, if applying
Help your referee personalize your reference letter: give them a personal profile
Fill out the Career Centre Profile (online) or create your own
Ask AT LEAST 2 WEEKS before the due date
Order your Grade 12 transcript from the Office IN FEBRUARY ALLOW AT LEAST TWO WEEKS
Documents GET IT TOGETHER! Use a LARGE PAPER CLIP to clip documents together and put everything in a large UNSEALED envelope with your name and student number on the outside

Record your academic, athletic & leadership & service awards at school or community for Grades 9-12
Then describe School & community volunteering activities Employment experience School & community athletics
And finally List extracurricular activities that don t fit anywhere else! Some examples: languages, music lessons, other training
