The Lord s Supper at Emanuel Lutheran Church We ask that only members of a WELS or ELS church partake of the Sacrament. This close communion is done out of love for the meal, our visitors, and our members. If you are new to Emanuel, our pastors are glad to share with you the meaning of this special communion. We celebrate the Lord s Supper with wheat bread and grape wine. We want to assist you if you re unable to receive these elements with gluten-free and alcohol-free alternatives. Feel free to inform the communion servers of your needs. We are happy to assist you if you need the sacrament brought to the place you are seated. Feel free to inform an usher. Large Print Hymnals Large-print copies of the service are available for anyone in need please ask an usher for a copy. Wheelchair Area For your convenience, there are two areas set aside to accommodate members with wheelchairs, walkers, or other special space needs. Ushers are available to assist you to the following locations: Halfway down the middle and side aisles on the lectern side of church, there is a pew with wheelchair space on either end. In the right half of the front row, also on the lectern side, there is a larger area with wheelchair space. Attention Hearing Impaired Members Special receivers are available to help you hear the service. Ask one of our ushers for a receiver and return it to an usher after the service. Parent Room Jesus said, Let the little children come to me. We love children and encourage their worship. Please don t feel embarrassed if your child is restless during the service. You are among caring people who understand. If you feel that your children are distracting others from worship, you may take them to the entryway or a parent s room is available. There is a closed-circuit TV in the room to watch & listen to the service. An usher can assist you in locating this room, also called the Bible Class Room. 2 P a g e

Celebration of Service Thank You Cris Ladwig, Shirley Steingraber, and Gail Potratz join together in thanks for all those who helped in any way to make the Celebration of Service meal and program such a memorable event. Acknowledging the Lord s blessings on Emanuel through our service was a humbling and gratifying experience. We thank all who brought the delicious food and grilled the brats & hot dogs. Those who prepared tables, served, and cleaned up afterward are also thanked. There were many hugs, kind words, cards and thoughtful gifts that were presented that day as well as the thoughts and prayers of those who were unable to join us. For all those kindnesses, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was a day we will not soon forget. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. Ps. 136:1.
