Each year, Long Beach Ballet s production of The Nutcracker offers an attractive souvenir program for sale. Beautiful full color production and dancer photos make this a coffee-table worthy book. All artwork must be camera ready (no additional design or artwork needed) or an extra charge will apply. Videotaping and flash photography are not allowed in the theater! Please tell friends and family before they come to the performance not to bring flash cameras or video recorders into the theater. They may be left with the lobby coordinator until the end of the performance. A DVD of the production will be available for purchase to cast member families.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS It is expected that one parent or guardian for each cast member sign-up for at least one volunteer assignment. There are many interesting jobs behind the scenes of a ballet performance, and without volunteer support, this production would not be possible. The following teams of volunteers are organized to provide the utmost efficiency; keeping in mind we are organizing a performance with over 300 cast members. Volunteer Sign-Up lists will be posted beginning, Saturday November 4 th. Team leaders will be in contact with you regarding details of dates and times. Costumes: Jobs are available for those wishing to help with costumes: measuring the students during rehearsals, alterations, restoration of old costumes, construction of new costumes, wardrobe assistance backstage (quick changes, etc.). Souvenir Program Ad Sales: For those who have a sales personality and can help us talk businesses into advertising in our beautiful souvenir program. Scenery and Backstage Crew: Jobs are available for those wishing to help with scenery: Loading the scenery into the truck at the warehouse & Stage crew during rehearsals and performances. We need at least 8 strong volunteers who can commit to being at the theater for all stage rehearsals and all 6 performances. Strike Crew - We need at least 15 strong volunteers for strike (production tear-down) on December 26 th at 8:00am. Strike Crew helps load the truck with scenery and then unloads the truck at near-by warehouse. Hospitality: Take care of the VIP patrons in the lobby and assists in backstage tour. Lobby Staffing: Those who volunteer to work in the lobby during the performance will be assigned to either Program sales or Merchandise sales. Backstage Cast Management: Chaperones: Each group of students must have a chaperone leader and a designated number of chaperones for all rehearsals and performances. These chaperones oversee supervision for their group while waiting to perform and getting dancers ready (costumes, make-up and hair). You will be requested to sign up for as many rehearsals and/or performances as possible. Chaperones are responsible for helping all dancers in their assigned group (duties include escorting dancers to & from sign-in table and dressing room, keeping dancers quiet and occupied backstage during rehearsals and performances, escorting dancers to & from dressing room and stage, remaining with their group until all their dancers are picked up)
