transforming generosity build your capacity to receive Working in my spare time for a small charity, I find it to be a great help and comfort to have the dedicated professional support of Stewardship. The accounts examination service and payroll support have taken two major headaches away from me. The consultancy helpline has provided me with the ability to draw on professional support with widespread skills. A fantastic service, absolutely what I need. Richard Petyt, Treasurer, Buckhurst Hill Baptist Church Pre-School Each year we advise and support hundreds of churches and charities who wish to better handle the financial resources in their care. Legal and financial advice Consultancy helpline Our low cost consultancy helpline can provide advice on a wide range of legal, financial and property issues. These include charity law, trustee responsibilities, employment status and insurance needs at a fraction of a professional advisor s annual fee. Briefing papers Advice and guidance are available from our free online library of briefing papers, tailored specifically for churches and Christian charities. Dealing with the detail Accounts examination Helping your church or charity comply with best practice; a service which is especially useful for church plants and fledgling charities. Payroll bureau Handling everything from the calculation of all necessary deductions and issuing payslips through to dealing with HM Revenue & Customs on your behalf. Charity formation Designed around the individual needs of your church or charity, this service ensures you create the correct legal documents and register with the right regulator when starting out as a charity.

Building for the future Deposit accounts Exclusively for churches and charities, our deposit accounts offer interest paid half-yearly, without deduction of tax and no notice required on withdrawals. Mortgages Stewardship offers a competitive mortgage service for churches and Christian organisations. No penalties for lump sum repayments or early redemption. Hope Corner Community Church, Runcorn Located near Liverpool in an area experiencing high levels of unemployment and deprivation, Hope Corner Community Church offers an award-winning drugs awareness programme, an Alternative to Violence project, a dedicated youth bar and runs local charity Kids First. Stewardship mortgage finance unlocked further funding and the church is now building a new community centre, bucking the local trend of church closures. The new building, which opened in 2012, features a 180-seater main room, café and a teaching and youth space. It offers hope and a future to the vulnerable and disaffected young people in the Runcorn community.

transforming generosity The calibre of professionalism is unquestionable but what I like about Stewardship is the personal touch which adds value to every service they provide. Rev Cid Latty, Cafechurch Network & Living Well email newsletters blogs and videos

inspire people to give Our resources and courses inspire individuals, whilst equipping churches and charities to explore lifestyles of God-centred generosity. These include: Sound, biblical teaching in a range of formats and styles Testimonies and stories to encourage and inspire Practical tools to turn theory into practice such as our online budget builder or 40acts Lent campaign As a missions organisation, joining Stewardship has been like getting to know extended family. Not only has their service been excellent, but their genuine concern for our needs as real people has blessed us no end. Simon Bardone, Executive Director, Every Nation Ministries

transforming generosity what does it cost? Registering as a recipient with Stewardship is completely free. We finance our modest running costs by retaining a small amount, typically just 3% of any gifts made. Fees apply to some of the other support services described within these pages. Details of these can be found enclosed or at stewardship.org.uk/fees. But we re a charity too so there are no profits at the end of the year. Any surplus goes straight back into new services and free resources for our church and charity partners, or supporting Christian charitable projects in the UK and overseas. how do I get started? To register as a Stewardship recipient, complete and return the enclosed recipient application form. For our other services, please follow the instructions on the enclosed information sheets. For further information, please visit stewardship.org.uk or contact us on 020 8502 5600.
