This body consists of elected officers who represent student concerns to the college administration. As members of the United Student Association, we are committed to nurturing our community. Mawada makes sure the flyers are visible for students. _ Sam Reed at SSCC, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 12-1pm OLY hall: Sam Reed is the Washington secretary of States. His passion is to encourage young voters to vote, and participate in positive political changes and civic process. _ Salsa Dance Lessons Wednesday, April 11, 2012 2-3pm: Potential salsa instructor might come from MeCha or Women Center. Discussion Items: Election Packet: Monica and Vivian will have a meeting one-on-one to discuss the skill tests for treasurer, communication, and marketing positions Events for Spring: The team went through the spring quarter event calendars to make sure there will be people to cover every event. Self-Evaluation: the evaluation is de no later than Friday. As soon as all the evaluations get turn in, Monica will start to schedule meetings one-on-one with each person. Pres. Oertli s Visit: already discussed. Budget Approval: the USA team's proposal is approved by S&A Fee Board. The team got 1193$ due to budget reconciliation. Student presentation: Tucker Gilbert: how to get more students involved while generating revenues for the students by creating concerts on and off campuses through a student agency (or official student club) Verbal Reports: President Dante Obcena: GLSEN Higher One: financial aid in form of ATM card and the setup of ATM machines on campus in the new future. There are options for students: physical checks will come to students in 7 to 10 days, a sum of money will be transferred to the students' accounts in 3 to 5 days, or students can start using the higher one card after one day. Any transaction on campus won't require transaction fee. Working WA: the tentative teach-in programs from Working WA along with the civic week, using South Seattle instructors. The topics can be: How capitalism hurts the US, or immigration issues. Since teach-in programs can be politically oriented, it needs approval from Cessa. The team needs to email Monica the detailed description of the event. Vice President and Legislative Liaison: Tysen Hillquist District Student Leader meeting at Central: the plan is to put on a committee for legislative issues that affect at the district wide scope. Update on S&A Meeting: budget hearing for the USA team is scheduled Monday April 9 at 2pm. Buying more marketing equipment: there are two options: and ipad, or three different items: a video camera, a digital camera, and a photo frame. My Linh will submit a form in order to purchase the ipad. If not approved, the team will purchase the three different items mentioned above. Marketing Officer Mawada Hamam: President visits USA meeting flyers: make sure the flyers are out ASAP. Checklist: to make a checklist on board often do tasks. Communications Officer Vivian Nguyen: Orientation Agenda: every team member when leading an orientation will follow a similar agenda of what to and not to reveal.
