Presentation The Latin American and Caribbean Bat Congress (COLAM) has been conceived by The Latin American and Caribbean Network for Bats Conservation (RELCOM) as the most important international forum for scientific exchange and discussion on bats conservation experiences in the region. This event takes place every three years under the responsibility and coordination of an Organizing Committee, conformed by RELCOM board members and representatives of the host country PCM. By decision of the RELCOM assembly, realized on August 2014 in Quito, Ecuador, The Bat Conservation Program of El Salvador (PCMES) was chosen to carry out the organization of the II COLAM. Slogan In commemoration of 10 years of hard work for the benefit of bats in Latin America and the Caribbean, the slogan of this congress is: A decade for the conservation of latin american and caribbean bats. Contests and Prizes Prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding students in the summary of the work and in the showing of oral presentations and posters. The call and instructions to participate in the contests for the prizes will be divulged in future circulars.

Oral Presentations and Posters The period to send summaries to the Academic Committee is from March 1 to May 31 of 2017, following the instructions bellow: Every Summary most include: Title: It has to be short, written in lowercase and bold (15 words max.). Authors: List all authors with names and last names, followed by superscripts that are relate to the institution of adscription and pointing with an asterisk (*) to the expositor (applies for oral presentations and posters). Institutions: List author s institutions of adscription, in order to superscripts indicated in the previous literal. Include postal address and e-mail of authors, without hyperlink. Summary Body: Text has to be 300 words or less. It most contain a brief, but concise description about the problem, objectives, methods in relevant cases, most important results and highlights conclusions. Citations have not been included in the summary. Summary Body Format Guidelines: Font type Times New Roman 12, text aligned to the left, paragraph in single space and symmetric margins to 2,5 cm. Oral Presentations Participants with oral presentations will have 12 minutes of exposure plus 3 minutes for questions and/or discussion. These presentations will be organized by rooms according to general themes. Presentations will be received only in Microsoft PowerPoint format. Poster Presentations Posters will be showing in a specific place in the hotel headquarters. Posters will be organized and collocated according to the theme. Posters dimensions must be 120 cm H. and 90 cm W. (Vertical orientation). Organizing Committee will not be responsible for helping to assemble posters that do not have the dimensions and orientation indicated. Consider this: Summary format needs to be compatible with Windows (*.doc or *.docx). The file has to be named the same way as the first author s last name and has to indicate the type of participation (i.e. Funes-oral.doc or Rodríguez-Perdomo-poster.docx). Participants may submit one single summary as the first author, either oral presentation or poster. Finished researches will be given preference. For summaries acceptance, presenters must prepaid the registration to the congress. Official Languages The official languages in all events are spanish and por tuguese.

Symposiums and Pre or Post Congress Events Proposal Symposiums and pre or post congress events proposal should been sent to Local Organizing Committee since November 12, 2016 until January 31, 2017. The extension for sending proposals of symposia is until February 15, 2017. Incomplete proposals o have not followed the instructions will not been considerate. Proposals must include the following information: Title of the event (10 words max.). Type of event (indicate if it is symposium, forum, workshop or course). Thematic area (see Thematic Areas section). Name and contact address of the organizer. Include as an attachment the organizer summary resume (3 pages max.). Event summary (300 words max.). Objectives of the event. Duration of the event (number of sessions and required hours). Financial sources (indicate if you already has any or if you re planning to get one, and donor name). Registration fee (It only applies for pre o post congress events).
