Non-Clinical Service Leaders (finance, admin, nutritional services, HR, supply chain etc.) Physicians PROGRAM OVERVIEW: TechSolve s program is broken into six modules over 3.5 days of instructorled training and 3 months of participant-led project implementation and includes: Identification and prioritization of project opportunities Instruction and application of Lean Tools to eliminate waste Execution of a Lean project that achieves quantifiable improvement Implementation and sustainment of continuous improvement and waste reduction We completed a project to improve quality, and we ended up not only doing that but also saving $30,000. Wow! Module 1: The Importance of Lean Participants are introduced to Lean and presented with its core foundations of Customer, Waster Reduction, Respect for People, and Continuous Incremental Improvement. Unit Nurse, Regional Hospital Module 2: Basic Lean Principles Participants learn principles that will help facilitate their own Lean project including: ground rules, expectations, and roles & responsibilities. Module 3: Lean Tools, Part I Lean Tools, Part I teaches Value Stream Mapping and how to identify Current State issues. Module 4: Lean Tools, Part II Lean Tools, Part II reviews various Lean Tools (Kanban, 5S, SIPOC, etc.) that participants will use to implement change. Module 5: Project Management Project Management emphasizes skills and techniques to sustain improvement efforts. Module 6: Exam and Participant Project Sustainment, project wrap-up, and the concept of spreading improvements are the central themes to this last module. TechSolve s Lean Practitioner Certification is different from others because the required project work puts into practice the Lean philosophy. Upon exam and graduation, every participant will have completed a Lean project with documentation and its tangible results.

EXPERT MENTORING & COACHING INCLUDED! Our team is unmatched in the healthcare arena. We ve implemented Lean and performance improvement throughout healthcare, and we re ready to share our knowledge and expertise by: Advising on Lean project selection Supporting participants as they facilitate and implement their Lean projects over a 4 month timeframe Mentorship and coaching includes 1 hour of one-on-one support every other week for a total of six coaching sessions per week CERTIFICATION PROJECT, EXAM, AND GRADUATION Participants complete a project whereby they aim to focus on an area within their organization in order to and use some of the Lean concepts, tools and practices they learned in the course. This not only gives the participants confidence to complete the training project successfully, but enables them to lead subsequent projects within their organization. The final examination is a comprehensive test that will demonstrate the participant s mastery of the course Body of Knowledge and readiness to proceed with their selected training project. Completion of all three elements (course, exam, and training project) will result in receipt of Certification status, a public recognition that the participant has the skills and ability to lead future lean projects within healthcare organizations. A formal Project Report-Out and Graduation ceremony open to healthcare teams and leadership will be scheduled in early June date TBD at the first class session. Our VP of Human Resources took the course with us and when he completed a project, I was impressed. It meant that leadership was walking the walk. ABOUT THE PRESENTER Sue Kozlowski, Director Healthcare Consulting, TechSolve, Inc. Sue Kozlowski joined TechSolve in 2011 with 25 years of combined Clinical Laboratory and Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement experience. In supporting the healthcare industry, Ms. Kozlowski has employed process improvement in nearly every area of the hospital including discharge, rehabilitation services, physician offices, admitting, emergency departments, surgical services, clinical laboratory, registration, and bed management. She drew upon this experience as co-author of Value Stream Management for Lean Healthcare. Additionally, she has served as an examiner for the Michigan Baldrige Program. Ms. Kozlowski earned her Master of Science in Administration in Healthcare from Central Michigan University and her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Michigan State University. She is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt through the American Society for Quality and holds a certification in Lean Healthcare from the University of Tennessee.
