Thank you to all of the members that have stepped up and helped with what was asked of us. On the 19th Aug. we did Vets day at the fair, on the 26th we did the Fromberg parade, on the 29th. is Reedpoint and parade. Above all else with funerals we've managed to maintain, as you all know Tiny has been working on MCL Birthday Ball. Again I wish to thank and welcome the two new members Adam and Pete. Thanks again to all the members that have supported me during the last three years as Commandant of the Eugene Sara Detachment. On the 20th of Aug. Dennis and Barbara hosted the patio party which was attended by several members, the food was fantastic a BIG thank you. Semper Fi Joe Aguilar (406)876-4530. 1

Senior Vice Commandant Report: Don t forget that I need help at the gun show on September 9 11 at the Metra. Please help recruit new members for the League. From you Sr Vice Dennis Sitzler Jr. Vice Commandant Report: Marines, Hey folks, we had a good turn out for Dennis Sitzlers Patio Party on the great plains of Montana. Other than that it s been a quiet month for the league. We have had a couple of services this month and a parade in Fromberg. Event wise, September is looking slow right now, too. We are done with the Patio Parties for the summer, unless someone wants to hold one for the end of the hot months (We have done it before). Now it s time to look towards the beginning of Toys for Tots, Veterans Day and Christmas and the Birthday of our Marine Corps in November. Semper Fi Tim Bender (406)697-5968 tim.mtlonegunman@gmail.com Chaplains Report: Semper Fi & God bless all. Months fly by, without much going on. Things are picking up though. We have a funeral coming up for a Navy veteran on Friday the 26th of August at the National Cemetery, his name is Ben Groblebe a brother to one of our former members. Then a color guard on the next day in Fromberg. Talked to Charles Doolittle and his wife Barb and he is slowly on the mend after his surgery. Regardless of ones condition we should constantly pray for each other, for there is no greater power then from our Savior, Jesus Christ. We must also pray for getting more Marines involved in the league. We are starting to scratch the bottom of Marines that participate in our functions and most of us aren't getting any younger. We have to learn to bow our necks a little and give some of our younger members the lead on ideas. Age, shoulders, and feet and legs are starting to take its toll on some of us. A few have maintained and brought in a lot of money for the league to operate on,' LETS NOT LOSE IT '. May the Lord guide us on a path to better things so we might sustain our beloved League. May the Lord find a place in each of our lives, so that He can help us forge forward. Thank you for listening and may the Lord touch each and everyone. Jim Borner (406)850-1802 jimborner@gmail.com 2

Marines and Families, We welcome aboard this month SSgt Peter Funnell, who is coming from Korea. He and his girlfriend Ally are getting settled and we look forward to the good work he will be doing in the shop. Capt. Leishman returns this week, it is exciting and bittersweet for me, as I look forward to hearing about all of the great work the unit will do under his leadership, I will also miss the Marines. Sgt Ray is taking over as the new Toys For Tots coordinator for this year s TFT season. Sgt Meade is taking over fundraising events, such as the August 27, 0800-1300 car show at the Reserve Center. The car show is to benefit local veterans but will also be a competition for motorcycles, 1970 and before cars, 1970 and later cars, trucks and jeeps. There will be prizes such as the best in show and best in class. We are excited to see how this event goes so hopefully we can continue this event years down the road. I look forward to hearing about all the good work he will do with the program. Just a reminder, ticket sales for the Birthday Ball are still ongoing. The price is $65.00.
