Addressing the core issue: The Industrial PhD Scheme Why? Increase research intensity in business and industry Enhance interaction between companies and research institutions Increase competitiveness, long term competence and innovative ability in companies How? Offer a simple financial instrument for companies in need of research competence and results Company contributes at least 50 % of the funding PhD candidate employed by the company.

Everybody wins The Industrial PhD scheme Company gains up-to-date expertise and a network of contacts in academia. The degree-conferring university obtains reality based knowledge and connections to the business sector. The PhD candidate can complete a doctorate and gain research-related work experience at the same time. Modeled on the Danish industrial PhD scheme, operating since 1972.
