EVENT IDEAS SPONSOR A CAMPER CRSAAs raise funds to sponsor a scholarship or transportation for camper from their regions. Form a Giving Circle and consider together how much the members of your group can contribute or raise to sponsor a camper at CRS 2010. Notify LAJF at alumni@risingsun.org that members of your association wish to sponsor a camper from your area. Each individual should visit the Spirit of Giving page at www.risingsun.org for information about making donations. Integrate a fundraising component into any of your events by charging for admission or participation to benefit CRS 2010. See Sign In Sheet on p. 9. 5

Fundraising FAQs Many Alumni Associations raise money to provide a scholarship for a camper from their region, pay for a camper s transportation or to support Camp Rising Sun. What is the easiest way to donate? Donation information is available at www.risingsun.org, click: Spirit of Giving. Or, call LAJF at 215-230-7040. Can our CRSAA collect the donations and send them to LAJF/CRS? Yes. If your group collects donations en masse, please use the Sign In Sheet for Fundraising Event, found on p. 9 of this booklet and send it to LAJF/CRS. In that way LAJF/CRS can thank, credit and receipt individual donors. How much is a scholarship for one camper? $10,000 is the cost per camper. What portion of the funds we raise will actually go to support a camper or to directly support the summer camp season? 100% Why is fundraising an important activity for CRSAAs? LAJF/CRS invites all alumni to extend the Spirit of Giving that created Camp Rising Sun by investing in today s campers. Camp is made possible by the generous support of alumni, friends and LAJF. Any other questions? Email us at alumni@risingsun.org 6

TIPS Contact other CRSAAs for ideas. Create a simple Website or Facebook page for your group. Consider the diverse interests of CRS alumni in your area and plan a range of activities. Submit stories and photos to alumni@risingsun.org for The Sundial and newsletters. Update your contact information on CRSearch at www.risingsun.org and encourage others to do so.
