what Are SCHULICH LEADER scholarships? Schulich Leader Scholarships are prestigious entrance scholarships awarded to high school graduates enrolling in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) programs at our Canadian partner universities. Recognizing the increasing importance and impact that STEM disciplines will have on the prosperity of future generations, businessman and philanthropist Seymour Schulich established this $100 million scholarship fund in 2012 to encourage our best and brightest students to be the next pioneers of global scientific research and innovation. 50 scholarships Are AwArded each YeAr 25 25 @ $80,000 For engineering @ $60,000 For science, technology or MAtheMAtics
what is A SCHULICH LEADER nominee? A Schulich Leader Nominee represents the top STEM student in your graduating class and in turn becomes eligible to win an $80,000 or $60,000 scholarship. This student exemplifies at least two of the following criteria: academic excellence, leadership and financial need. Benefits of being a Schulich Leader nominee: Chance to win an $80,000 0 or $60,000 scholarship Recognition on a National stage and within their school Increased access to summer jobs/internships what is A SCHULICH LEADER? A Schulich Leader is a student who has been selected by one of our 20 partner universities to receive $80,000 or $60,000 to pursue an undergraduate degree in STEM. In addition to this large financial award, they join an elite network and receive many ongoing benefits. Only Schulich Leader Nominees are eligible to become Schulich Leaders.
how it works Schulich Leader scholarships Program Guidelines step one school Select your Nominee Get the word out All high schools and Cégeps across Canada are eligible to participate Display promotional materials and notify staff and graduating students select your Schulich Leader nominee Nominees must possess at least two of three criteria: Academic Excellence Leadership (community, business or entrepreneurial) Financial Need To qualify, Nominees must: Graduate high school or Cégep in the 2015/2016 academic year Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident Enroll at one of our partner universities submit your one nomination by February 2, 2016 (cégeps can submit two nominees) Access Nomination form Email info@uja.schulichleaders.com if you are not on our electronic mailing list and we will send you the link Choose a school staff representative to submit the Nomination Nomination form includes: Name and contact information for your school Name and contact information for your Nominee Your Nominee will receive an email with a link to the Schulich Leader Scholarship Application. the rest is up to them!
STEP two student Complete Schulich Leader Scholarship Application Application requires: Universities where the Nominee wants to attend List of top three achievements (academic or other) 600 word essay demonstrating why they would make a great Schulich Leader Optional 250 word essay to outline extenuating circumstances Two letters of reference (at least one from a school staff member) Copy of an up-to-date transcript or credit counsel summary Headshot profile image for marketing purposes Schulich Leader Scholarship Application due February 23, 2016 STEP three universities Select Schulich Leaders Review scholarship applications starting March 1, 2016 Offers will be made between March 1 & June 15, 2016 All Schulich Leaders are finalized by June 15, 2016
