GENERAL/IMPORTANT INFORMATION While Gettysburg is known for Civil War history, there is more to this destination than a battlefield or a Presidential Address. ENTERTAINMENT: If you feel the need to bring other means of entertainment such as CD players, MP3 players, DVD players, Ipods and such, they are permitted, although you should have enough entertainment through the event that they will not be neceesssary. If you do bring these items, please be aaware that any loss or damage that occurs will be at your own risk. We will not be reesponsible for lost or damaged items. CELL PHONES: We realize everyone carries a cell phone these days and that is fine, however, they MUST be turned off (not put on silent or vibrate but turned off) during leadership workshops, tours and speaking events. If they are picked up, they will not be returned until the end of the event. CAMERAS: Don t forget your camera! Make sure and capture those GOALS memories! MISCELLANEOUS: Hair dryers are provided in the lodges. SPENDING MONEY: This is up to you. We suggest approximately $100-$150 for souveniers and food you feel you must purchase. Your meals and lodging will be provided. The only meals juniors will need to purchase will be when traveling to and from Gettysburg. WHAT NOT BE BRING: These items are not permitted at GOALS: pocket knives, alcohol, tobacco, fireworks, guns, cigarettes, illegal drugs and a BAD ATTTITUDE. If any of these items are found on a junior, participant s parents will be notified and action will be taken. We recommend you bring your shorts, some comfy walking shoes and thin, short sleeve or sleeveless shirts. You may still wish to wear long pants or at least some long socks for hiking the open fields of Pennsylvania. The weather tends to remain warm in the evenings, so it s unlikely you ll need a jacket.
