At their June 3rd meeting, the youth group packed 10 health kits for UMCOR and then enjoyed water fun outdoors. Dana McDuffie, Diana Belt, Christina Belford, Sharon McDuffie, Annemarie Jones, Megan Milloway, and Pastor James McMillan had a great time! Junior/Senior High Class won the attendance award for the 2nd quarter. Accepting the trophy on behalf of the class are Christina Belford and Megan Milloway. At the beginning of the June city council meeting, Linden Municipal Court Judge Barbara McMillon was sworn in by Mayor Clarence Burns.
The C.A.S.T. workshop at Linden-Kildare High School was a huge success. Christina and Max Belford and Megan Milloway were troupe members under the direction of 15-year veteran Paula Fitts. At top left are the Belfords, Grandma Nancy, Dad Chad, Momma Beth, and kiddos Christina, Cadi, and Max. At top right are Mom Kaylin Kluge and daughter Megan Milloway. Below are Sharon and Pastor James McMillan with Megan and Christina. A large contingency of LUMC church family members attended the performance which had a patriotic theme.
Among the June Fun Bunchers were Mickey Fears, Paul Ellinger, Ruby Dowd, John Fant, Lea Ann Ross, Mary Jane Ellinger, Karoyn Stilwell, Mary Lynn McDonald, and Nancy Belford. Prizes are always given if the Bunch plays trivia games. Some winners were a bit reluctant to pick their prizes; so Mickey was the spokesmodel who tried to persuade or encourage them to make their selections! In case you have not noticed, LUMC has a new water fountain in the hallway between the church office and the sanctuary.
At Father s Day worship, Jina Hamm did a wonderful solo of Jesus Built This Church on Love. Thanks, Jina! Mom Kaylin Kluge snapped this photo of daughter Megan Milloway receiving her 8th grade diploma from Dr. Scott Farler. Oh, what fun it is to work in the LUMC food pantry! seems to be the message from June volunteers Pastor James McMillan, Nancy Belford, Sue Hill, Karoyn Stilwell, Suzie Evans, and Kay Washington.
Music City Texas honored Ann Moore upon her retirement as coordinator of the green room and all food for performers. From left are Judy Lanier, Jina Hamm, Lea Ann Ross, Ann Moore, Kaylin Kluge, Judy Sullivan, and Melissa Lanier. Ann retired from Linden-Kildare Elementary where she taught 5th grade science. She will be missed greatly in the church, community, and school. We wish her well as she begins her new life in Colorado. Linden Lions Club officers recently installed include James McMillan, Nate Trammell, Luci Trahan, Paul Ellinger, Bob Money, Charles Snowden, James Penny, Frank Lanier, and Glenn Lanier.
