MSCA Individual Fellowships European Fellowships Held in EU Member States (MS) or Associated Countries (AC) - Standard European Fellowships (EF-ST) - Career Restart (EF-CAR) Must not have been active in research for at least 12 months immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals (i.e. at least since 15/09/2016) - Reintegration (EF-RI) For researchers located in a third country and want to return to EU - Society & Enterprise Panel (EF-SE) The beneficiary must be an entity form the non-academic sector Global Fellowships Based on an outgoing phase to a third country and a return phase in a MS/AC

MSCA Individual Fellowships- Main Objective Objective Work Programme 2016: To enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility. Standard European Fellowships (ST) Global Fellowships (GF)

MSCA Individual Fellowships -ST Held in a EU Member States or Associated countries MSCA -ST are opened to: Experienced researchers i.e. be in possession, at the date of the call deadline, of a doctoral degree or have at least 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience. Researchers may be of any nationality and no age restrictions Researchers must comply with the mobility rules i.e. must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the host country for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.

MSCA Individual Fellowships -ST Held in a EU Member States or Associated countries Application procedure: One Experienced Researcher applies jointly with one host institution located in a Member State or Associated Country for a research project than can last between 12 and 24 months. The host institution, called Benificiary, will recruits the ER and will ensure through the appointment of a supervisor the necesseray training and takes complete responsability for the proper implementation of the project. Before the redaction of your project you need: The support of an institution located in a MS/AC (academic or non-academic) and a main supervisor

MSCA Individual Fellowships Global Fellowships (GF) Based on an outgoing phase to a third country (12-24 months) and a mandatory return phase (12 months) to a MS or AC MSCA GF are opened to: Experienced researchers i.e. be in possession, at the date of the call deadline, of a doctoral degree or have at least 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience. Researchers may be a national or long-term resident of a MS or AC Long-term resident = who has carried out a full-time research activity in a EU MS or AC during at least 5 consecutive years Researchers must comply with the mobility rules i.e. must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the Third Country Partner organisation where the initial outgoing phase takes place for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.

MSCA Individual Fellowships -Global Fellowships (GF) Based on an outgoing phase to a third country (12-24 months) and a mandatory return phase (12 months) to a MS or AC Application procedure: One Experienced Researcher applies jointly with one host institution located in a Member State or Associated Country for a research project than can last between 24 and 36 months. This application is done in collaboration with a Partner organisation located in a Third country (TC) where the mandatory outgoing phase will be performed. Before the redaction of your project you need: The support of a host institution located in a MS/AC and a main supervisor (academic or non-academic)+ a Partner Organisation from a TC (academic or non-academic) + TC Principal Investigator contact A letter of commitment from the TC partner organisation will have to be added to the application as supplementary document (eligibility criteria!)

MSCA Individual Fellowships ST & GF Secondments ( from the outgoing phase of the GF!): During the implementation of the Individual Fellowship (ST or GF), the Experienced Researcher may be seconded to an additional partner organisation. The secondments have to take place in a MS/AC. Such secondments must significantly contribute to the impact of the project and must be informed within the application! Duration of the Fellowship 18 months Maximum duration of secondment 3 months > 18 months 6 months

MSCA Individual Fellowships ST & GF MSCA- IF are focused on carreer development through advanced training A career development plan has to be developed during the implementation of the Action (including research objectives, researcher s training and carreer needs) Typical training activities may include: Hands-on training activities for developing scientific expertise (e.g. new techniques) and transferable skills (e.g. patent applications, management of IPR, entrepreneurship, task coordination ) Intersectoral or interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge (e.g. through secondments) Taking part in the research and financial management of the action Organisation of scientific/training/dissemination events Communication, outreach activities and horizontal skills Training dedicated to gender issues

MSCA Individual Fellowships ST & GF evaluation criteria Project: 1. Excellence (50% of the evaluation weight) 1.1 Quality and credibility of the research/innovation project (level of novelty, appropriate consideration of inter/multidisciplinary and gender aspects) 1.2 Quality and appropriateness of the training and of the two way transfer of knowledge between the researcher and the host 1.3 Quality of the supervision and of the integration in the team/institution 1.4 Capacity of the researcher to reach or re-enforce a position of professional maturity/independance You need a good match between your research objectives and the Host Institution capacities and a good complementarity between your CV and the Host Institution

MSCA Individual Fellowships ST & GF evaluation criteria Project: 2. Impact (30% of the evaluation weight) 2.1 Explain the expected impact of the planned research and training on the career Prospects the MSCA project must enhance your potential and future career prospects 2.2 Quality of the proposed measures to exploit and disseminate the action results 2.3 Quality of the proposed measures to communicate the action activities to different target audiences You need at least one communication activity to the Public (non-specialists) in order to improve the public s understanding of the science.

Quality and Efficiency of the implementation (20% of the evaluation weight) 3.1 Coherence and effectiveness of the work plan 3.2 Appropriateness of the allocation of tasks and resources 3. 3 Appropriateness of the management structure and procedures, including risk Management 3.4 Appropriateness of the institutional environment (infrastructure)

MSCA Individual Fellowships ST & GF Ethical issues: All applicants submitting research proposals under the Horizon 2020 Programme are required to complete the «Ethics Issues Table» (Part A of the proposal). Does your research involve Human Embryonic Stem Cells? Does your research involve human participant? Does your research involve human cells or tissue? Does your research involve personal data collection and/or processing? Does your research involve animals? Does your research involve non-eu countries? Does your research involve the use of elements that may cause harm to the environment, to animals or plants? Does your research have the potential to military applications? Does your research have the potential for malevolent/criminal/terrorist abuse? Are they any other ethics issues that should be taken into consideration? If you answer YES to one of those questions, you should then prepare and annex to your proposal an Ethics Self-Assessment that will describe the ethics issues of your project and how you will manage them in order to comply with European and national Legislation and fundamental ethical principles.

MSCA Individual Fellowships ST & GF Financial aspects: Living allowance: It is a gross EU contribution to the salary cost of the researcher. Benefits and taxes have to been deducted to get the net salary. This amount is adjusted through the application of a country correction coefficient according to the living costs of the country. Mobility allowance: It is an additional fixed EU contribution paid to the researcher. Family allowance: It is an additional fixed EU contribution paid to the researcher in case of family obligations, defined as marriage, formalised relationship, dependent children. The familiy status is determined at the deadline of the call and will not be revised during the lifetime of the action. Mobility and family allowances may be taxable depending on the country where the action is carried out!
