Michigan Career Education Conference ) ) ) January 28-30, 2018

The Michigan Career Education Conference in 2017 was very successful in part due to our exhibitor and sponsor participation. Over 90% of participants felt that the exhibits were valuable and provided an opportunity to learn about new resources available to educators. The 2017 conference hosted approximately 620 attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and community members the highest participation recorded since 2009! We are already working hard to make 2018 even better, and hope that you are planning to join us in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Feedback we receive from our exhibitors is very important to us. Many of you have expressed an interest in receiving a copy of the attendee list. It is the policy of the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) that we do not distribute our attendee lists. However, in an effort to meet the request and stay within MDE s policy, the conference committee agreed to include an opt out selection on the participant registration portal. Participants who do not wish to have their contact information shared can make this selection. We will then make the list of participants who did not opt out, available to you following the conference. Another suggestion shared was to see even more traffic in the exhibitor area. In an effort to encourage more traffic, we are introducing an Exhibitor Drawing. We would like to invite each exhibitor to donate a gift with a minimum value of $50.00, that you would display at your table throughout the duration of the conference. Please RSVP your gift during the registration process. We will market the drawing, and your participation prior to and during the conference. Participants will each receive tickets that we provide when they register. As they visit the exhibitor area and view your products, services, and exhibitor drawing items they will put tickets in the buckets that we provide for item(s) they would like to enter to win. Each participant will only receive a few tickets, so they will need to view all of the items to determine which ones they are most interested in. Throughout the conference attendees will be reminded to visit the exhibitor area and when the drawing will be held. We are happy to store the drawing prizes and buckets for you Sunday and Monday evening. The Exhibitor Drawing replaces the door prizes we have done at the closing session in the past. Although a similar concept, we are hopeful that this incentive will drive additional traffic to the exhibit area. Thank you for your consideration and support of the 2018 Michigan Career Education Conference. We look forward to partnering with you to offer another fabulous career education conference event in 2018. Kindest Regards, Lisa Seigel Conference Chair Michigan Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education
