From the desk of Fr. Jim Many thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the Halloween Oldies Dance such a success. Your efforts not only help the parish financially but every dance helps build the community of the parish. Thanks again and may God reward you for your goodness. This weekend is going to be very busy. Saturday night we have the St. Aloysius 125th Wine tasting which promises to be a very elegant affair. On Sunday we will have the St. Aloysius Volunteer Lunch which will again reflect on the 125th and how the parish could not have gotten to where we are without our volunteers. Most Holy Name will have its 150th Organ recital with Maestro Donald Fellows performing this Sunday, November 5th at 4:00 pm. A reception will follow where we will have a very nice spread of Hors d oeuvres from Nova Catering and cookies from Christian Mothers. Next weekend we have the delivery of St. Aloysius soup sale. Most Holy Name has its Croatian Dinner starting at 4pm and going to 8pm. The 6pm Mass will feature Croatian hymns. The dinner will have two Croatian dance groups one performing before Mass, the other after Mass in the School Hall. Someone complained there s too much going on! I think there should be this much going on every week. Here s part of what it means to have the Church Alive. May Christ hold all of you close to his Sacred Heart Pax, Fr. Jim At Home with the Lord Remember Lord and welcome into your Kingdom those who have died and gone before us marked in the sign of faith, especially Mildred Sporcic Eleanor Dumrauf Chester Toski Please pray for the consolation of their loved ones. Eucharistic Adoration & Veneration of the Relic of St. Catherine Laboure at St. Anthony's Chapel On Sunday, November 5th at 3:00 pm, we will begin to pray the Church's evening prayer before Christ in the Eucharist. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the monstrance at the beginning of evening prayer and the service will conclude with Benediction, Christ imparting His blessing to us in His Eucharistic Presence. Following the service, the faithful who wish to do so will have the opportunity to venerate a relic of one of the saints. For November, it will be the relic of Saint Catherine Laboure whose feast day is November 28. St. Anthony Chapel Shop Saint of the Month This November, St. Anthony Chapel Shop honors St. Hubert, patron saint of mathematicians, metalworkers, opticians, and hunters. Those not familiar with St. Hubert may recognize his symbol - a stag s head with a cross above it - especially those who enjoy the occasional tipple. Hubert s symbol was incorporated into the logo for Jägermeister, which translates into Master Hunter. 2018 Sanctuary Candle Request Seven day Sanctuary Candles: $20 For: By: Week Desired: Please include $20 with this request and drop off at either parish rectory. As we approach the start of hunting season, St. Anthony Chapel Shop will have St. Hubert medals available for sale to help protect hunters this season. Sadly, we will not be offering Jägermeister.
