Example: 1-2 interns for Mother baby/lactation 1-2 interns for Pediatric areas 1-2 interns for Trauma REMEMBER---There are MANY placements available. 2

Gather information on pancreas transplantation and assist in developing patient/family educational materials. Assist in the development of various patient/family educational materials for adult and pediatric kidney & pancreas patients, as well as live kidney donors. Coordinate drafts of materials with publication companies. Assist in website development. 6

Conduct mock JCAHO/Magnet unit surveys with staff to identify issues and provide real-time education to staff members. Develop educational materials, or staff presentations for staff and patients related to other identified quality initiatives (restraint use; falls; pain; medication error reduction, etc.). 7

Assist with data collection and analyses to determine outcomes achieved through the Department of Nursing Quality Initiatives (wrong patient errors; pain treatment options; fall risk reduction; reduction of medication errors; pressure ulcer prevention; ventilator associated pneumonia).
