June Birthdays A big Happy Birthday to the following residents who are celebrating birthdays this month; Tita, Gilbert, Henryk, Charles, Jane and Ian. We hope you all have a lovely day. Previous Month Highlights May On Wednesday the 3rd of May we had a mini bus outing to the Club for lunch and play the pokies. Thank you to the staff and family members that helped throughout the day. The residents really had a wonderful time and we will be doing this again on the 5th of July. Wednesday the 10 th of May we drew our Mother s Day Raffle, with myself, Lisa, winning the beautiful 1 st prize gift basket, Jackie was second and Aggie, my sister-in-law winning third prize. There were 15 prizes in all and we thank everyone that supported us in raising $84.50. We also had Kathy s reminiscing on weddings. This was really interesting as many family members were involved as well as the residents. Sunday 14 th Mother s Day was celebrated with many of the women enjoying visits from their families. The ladies all received a personalized gift from the nursing home. The tables were decorated with Mother s Day settings and the chrysanthemums were displayed all around the Home and each lady had one in their rooms. The Children from the Child Care Centre have been visiting fortnightly on Thursday s. They have been so excited in Page 2 of 8

visiting, they go home and tell their parents about their new best friends Nurses Day was celebrated on Friday the 12 th with a few of the staff dressing up and the residents wearing their nurse s hats that they had made. A morning tea was held for Tony s birthday. On Friday the 19 th we had a concert in the Ballroom for Jim and Reg s birthdays. Singing from the 50 s, 60 s and 70 s. This was a really good concert with many singing and dancing. We will be having another one on the 23 rd of June so please let me, Lisa, or Joanne of any songs from this era that you would like to hear. Joanne has started her chair restoration project with some of the residents. They will continue this over the next few weeks. Congratulations to Libby in guessing the closest date in the baby competition, Anita had her beautiful little boy on the 23 rd of May. An update on the footy tipping competition- John is now leading on 54 points. Comments and Complaints Does everyone know that if you have a problem you CAN do something about it? The Helping Us to Care Brochures is located at the Kesters notice board which is at the Kesters Road entrance of Our Home. Page 3 of 8

There are also some located in the Ceafield Wing both near the notice board and on the bookcase. You can also always ask one of our friendly staff if you cannot find them. Feedback is an integral part of improving the home and providing the highest quality of care to all residents. All issues are treated as confidential and we endeavour to sort out any problems in a timely manner. Continuous Improvement: We try to please every resident with our activities but if there is something that you would like to do, please do not hesitate to let one of our friendly DT Team know.
