Statements & Search Criteria Mission The mission of the Naples Art Association to expand cultural opportunities, broaden education, and enrich Southwest Florida through the visual arts.. Background Celebrating over 60 years, The Naples Art Association (NAA) is promoting the value of art education and emphasizing the impact the arts have on the economic health of our community. Our mission is the same as it was all those years ago, to promote and advance education, interest and participation in the visual arts. Exhibitions, classes, Dinner with Artists, festivals and other unique programming provide a platform to increase visibility and amplify opportunities to our community to connect with art. The goal of the NAA is to make art accessible to all. Unique programs like Wine & Dezine and Dinner with Artists offer guest the opportunity to tap into their inner artists. The Art Center is the largest venue in Collier County dedicated to providing aritsts' the opportunity to showcase and sell their work. The NAA provides scholarships to high school students wishing to continue their art education as well as tuition assistance to those who need financial help attending classes and workshops. Each year over 60,000 guest enjoy programming offered through the Art Center, The NAA injects more than $3 million into the local community and supports more than 600 independent artists. An active group of 200+ volunteers contribute their time and expertise while enjoying value-added leisure time. Programs Programs Art Exhibitions Description Long-Term Success Examples of Long-Term Success Target Population 1 Target Population 2 The professional presentation of quality exhibitions is at the heart of all NAA programming serving two distinct audiences. Creative viewing and engagement in the visual arts enhances personal understanding and develops insight into the human experience. The NAA offers year round rotating exhibitions for the community to engage with the artists as well as experience personal growth. As the largest gallery dedicated to the art and artists in Southwest Florida, exhibitions serve as a professional development tool for artists of all levels ages and skill levels. The NAA offers artists a variety of opportunity to exhibit including juried members only shows, invitational, national and international competitions and one non-juried show. The NAA has hosted art exhibitions for over 60 years, 15 in our current location- The von Liebig Art Center Annually our exhibitions promote and showcase over 500 artists that live and work in Southwest Florida, attracting 10,000 people to the art center. Adults Children and Youth (0-19 years) Adult Education Description Artists of all ages and skill levels can hone their talent through our educational offerings or learn about the business side of art as a career. The Naples Art Association provides over 80 different adult classes and workshops from beginning level classes to advance and professional level. Engaging in the arts is beneficial to everyone no matter what your age. Adults can positively benefit from art by using their imagination, and expressing and exploring more about themselves, too. Additionally, adults may find benefits in releasing emotions, relieving stress, increasing selfesteem and morale, and strengthening critical thinking. Adult students can hone their technical skills in an environment that meets them at their talent level and helps them grow. Management Executive Director/CEO Executive Director Aimee E Schlehr Term Start July 2009 Email aimee.schlehr@naplesart.org Experience Aimee Schlehr, Executive Director/CEO of The Naples Art Association, joined the staff in 2009 and prior to her promotion, served the NAA as the COO/CFO. From the beginning, she has focused on strengthening the financial foundations of the organization and through her diligence and careful budget oversight; the organization has persevered through difficult times. Recognizing that her colleagues and peers held her in high esteem for her attention to detail and team building strengths, Schlehr is a chief representative and spokesperson of the organization and she eagerly engages with community leaders to encourage investment in The Naples Art Association. She continues to oversee the financial management and guide the staff and organization toward growth and progress. Her vision is to strengthen the organization s roots in the community, continue supporting and promoting artists and inspiring new audiences to discover and create art. Her management experience and solid understanding of the dollars and cents of the business makes her a true asset to The Naples Art Association and the community at large. As a nonprofit, the challenge is to run the organization as a business while staying focused on our mission. We have a responsibility to our donors and corporate supporters to leverage their gifts to strengthen programming and provide sustainability while reassuring them that their investment will make an impact on their community, Schlehr said. Aimee Schlehr is both a Leadership Collier graduate, class of 2012, a 2012 Power Woman by Florida Weekly and Stars in the Arts recipient. Currently she serves as President of the Art Council of SW Florida, Marketing Chair for the 5th Avenue Business Improvement District (BID), Co-Chair of the BID Public Art Committee and serves on the CIty of Naples Public Arts Advisory Committee.
