NEW APPLICATION TRACKING SYSTEM SPRING 2012 TEACHER RECRUITMENT On Nvember 1, 2011, RISD implemented a new applicatin tracking system called AppliTrack. Campus and central administratrs were trained districtwide n Nvember 30 and December 1, 2011. PRESCREENING TOOLS Upn review f district hiring prcesses and repeated cncerns viced by administratrs, Human Resurces determined that the teacher screener in use was n lnger meeting the needs f RISD. Thus, staff researched several screening instruments and presented ptins t an administratr reflectr cmmittee. The cmmittee reviewed screening tls, listened t presentatins by the tw finalists, and selected the instrument which best reflects the District s visin, missin, values, fcus, and gals and espuses qualities f the RISD Student-Fcused Teacher Prfile. TeacherFit and JbFit were chsen as screeners fr teachers and paraprfessinal staff, respectively. They assess the fllwing: TeacherFit Fairness and Respect Cncern fr Student Learning Adaptability Cmmunicatin and Persuasin Planning and Organizing Cultural Cmpetence JbFit Ease f Supervisin Flexibility/ Openness t Change Interpersnal Skills Reasning/ Cgnitive Skills Reliability Student Fcus Stability/ Stress Tlerance

RECRUITING SCHEDULE The Human Resurces Divisin recruits thrughut the year. A majr recruitment effrt invlves participatin at jb fairs. T maximize pprtunities and best utilize District resurces, the Executive Directrs f Human Resurces strategically select lcatins and recruiters t facilitate the recruitment prcess. This invlves: Researching sites Number f graduates Number/percentage f minrity candidates Cnference attendees (i.e. target audience, number f registrants, recruiting pprtunities) Referrals by District staff, ther recruiters, applicants, etc. Strength/success f prgram Reviewing District data n new hires Selecting recruiters (alumnae, cnnectins, target audience, recruitment gals) Updating recruitment materials Cnsidering budgetary parameters Explring alternate funding surces Develping a plan fr fllwing up with pririty candidates Meeting with recruiters t discuss the prcess and District gals Meeting with the apprpriate administratr and Executive Directr t discuss minrity staffing based n data
