Applying ICS to ALL Response Operations Will vary with the significance and size of the incident Type 1 and Type 2 Incidents in the fire service classification system are equivalent to EPA Nationally Significant Incidents, which require national mobilization Type 3: Regionally Significant Incidents, involving multiple jurisdictions and a unified command
Applying ICS to ALL Response Operations Type 4: Significant EPA-managed incidents and sites, with limited interagency coordination (e.g., large removal actions) Type 5: Routine or small incidents typically managed by one OSC with contractor support, without significant involvement of other agencies.
