Recognized as one of East Tennessee s most popular events, the largest of its kind in the local area, and the only such free-admission community event presented by an opera company in the U.S. SATURDAY, APRIL 14, 2018 ARTISAN VENDOR GENERAL INFORMATION This information and the accompanying agreement apply only to vendors who sell handcrafted works of art. Different applications are available for all other vendors. Now in its 17 th year, the Rossini Festival International Street Fair is Knoxville Opera s perennial celebration of the performing arts. Designated a legacy event by Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero, this unique gathering transforms downtown Gay Street, Market Square and the adjoining streets into a Europeanstyle pedestrian street mall. Over the course of 11 hours, the public is treated to non-stop entertainment on five outdoor stages showcasing everything from opera, classical, jazz, gospel and ethnic music to ballet, modern and world dance. Attendees can purchase from scores of food vendors and more than 100 artisans throughout the day, while the YMCA FamilyZone keeps the kids entertained. More than half a million residents of Knox County and the surrounding area have enjoyed the Rossini Festival over the years. With free admission for all, the Street Fair is largely dependent upon sponsor support for its funding and success. The Rossini Festival s culture is extraordinary and serves as a wonderful model for other arts groups throughout the nation to emulate Wayne Brown, Head of Music and Opera, National Endowment for the Arts Artisan Vendors will receive a 50% discount on tickets to Knoxville Opera s production of Verdi s epic Aida (sung in Italian with English translations). This grand work will be presented at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium on May 4 and 6, 2018. Please see the link below for more information about this production: http://www.knoxvilleopera.com/aida/ The Rossini Festival is growing every year and we hope you will become one of our celebrated Artisan Vendors in 2018. We look forward to including you in this special occasion! For more information about the Street Fair, please visit www.rossinifestival.org.
