Hello Members, I will indeed be interested in being part of this Steering Committee. My resume follows this note. I hereby confirm my ability to promote the work of the e-gov Member section, and participate in monthly conference calls. Open Standards enable everyone to share and actively engage in the digital millennium while ensuring citizens' rights and the nations' digital independence. Throughout my work inside the Ars Aperta consultancy and my role inside the OpenOffice.org project I have worked at various levels with governments on open standards and the issue of vendor capture. I believe that standards, and open standards specifically help governments minimizing costs, avoid vendor capture, and provide them with first level framework on which to build their local IT industry. The OASIS Consortium is one of the flagship SDOs that develop open digital standards with the full inclusion and participation of governments and the most diverse stakeholders in the development process. Thank you for thinking about me for this role, Charles-H. Schulz.
