The Clinical Nurse Manager will work collaboratively with all levels of management, clinicians, carers, residents, families, support staff and relevant community agencies to facilitate an effective resident focused service. The Clinical Nurse Manager will assume responsibility for the overall management of the site in the absence of the Service Manager. This service will be managed and developed in line with Mercy Health s objectives and Commonwealth / State policies that pertain to residential care. Essential: Registered Nurse Five years experience in provision of quality aged care in a senior clinical role. Proven management skills, demonstrated team leadership, strong working knowledge of continuous improvement and familiarity with Personal Care and Resident Lifestyle requirements in the Aged Care Standards. Positive attitude that promotes the Mercy Health Care First concepts. Promotes Mercy Health Diversity Program. SUPERVISION Direct supervision of Registered Nurses and Personal Care staff. Facilitates staff development and undertakes staff appraisals. Arranges regular staff meetings for communication, consultation and training of personal care. Advises Service Manager of the size and rationale for any changes recommended in Resident Services staff levels or rosters. Conducts audits to ensure regulatory compliance regarding standards and continuous improvement Establishes, evaluates and reviews Care Plans, documentation policies and procedures, aiming for best practice, under the direction of the Service Manager. Facilitates the implementation Model of Care practices, policies and procedures. Consistently follows Care Program policies and procedures. Laundry Services meet Accreditation and Australian laundry standards Meals are served according to Mercy Health policies and procedures and meet accreditation standards. Fosters a harmonious and caring environment of teamwork and co-operation among all Mercy Health staff members and volunteers. Is an active member of both the Mercy Health team and individual work groups, and works co-operatively with fellow staff.
