California Lottery Official Rules California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion Purpose The California Lottery ( Lottery ) is conducting a California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion to provide players with an additional and exciting opportunity to win special Prize Packages. Upon submission of eligible, non-winning $1, $2, $3 and $5 Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes into the system, players receive one (1) entry for every $1.00 spent on ticket purchases into the promotion and will be eligible for the regular weekly drawings, the promotional monthly drawings and the Grand Prize drawings at the end of the promotional period. Promotion Period The California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion will begin on January 1, 2017 at 12:00 am and end on June 30, 2017 at 11:59 pm ( Promotion Period ). Within this Promotion Period are six (6) monthly drawings and one (1) Grand Prize drawing. Each monthly and Grand Prize Promotion Period will run according to the following schedule: Monthly Sun. Adopted, half, and step family members are also included in immediate family. Transfers must occur before the trip is booked and only one transfer is permitted per Prize Package. Prize Packages that are transferred must be booked and the trip taken within: Eighteen (18) months from the Winners Posted By Date on the California Lottery website for monthly Prize Packages; Thirty-six months (36) from the Winners Posted By Date on the California Lottery website for the Grand Prize Packages. The Lottery will not enforce age limits for Travel Companions that Prize Winners select as their guests for the Prize Packages; however, if the Travel Companion is a minor, the Prize Winner (A) must be the parent or legal guardian of such guest, or (B) must present a notarized, written consent from the minor s parent or legal guardian for the minor guest to accompany the Prize Winner on the trip. Some music festivals, culinary vendors or other service providers may impose a minimum age limit or require a legal guardian be present, so Prize Winners will be mandated to comply with such age requirements, where applicable. 2 P a g e
The Prize Winner will be responsible for paying any taxes on the value of the Prize Package above the 25% Federal tax withholding included with the Prize Package. All Prize Packages will be subject to a 25% Federal tax withholding anything above the 25% Federal tax withholding, including any increase in the Prize Winner s income tax bracket, will be the responsibility of the Prize Winner. The Lottery, MDI or any other vendors associated with the Prize Packages are not responsible for any additional taxes incurred by the Prize Winner as a result from winning this Prize Package. Prize Winners should consult with their tax professional for further clarification on tax responsibilities. This program is not open to certain Lottery vendors or employees of the Lottery, any of their subsidiaries, assigns, or their agents, and their family members residing in the same household. How to Enter All registered 2nd Chance players who purchase eligible, non-winning $1, $2, $3 and $5 Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes can submit each ticket at Scratchers 2nd Chance, SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance, or by scanning the unique barcode using the California Lottery Official Mobile App during the Promotion Period to be entered into the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion. Players must log into their existing 2nd Chance account or create an account at CA Lottery in order to submit a ticket code. To be eligible for the current month s promotional draw, eligible, non-winning Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes must be submitted by the last day of the promotional month at 11:59 pm or else it will be eligible for the following month s promotional draw. To be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing at the end of the Promotional Period, eligible, non-winning Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes must be submitted by June 30, 2017 at 11:59 pm. Each valid submission during the Promotion Period will be entered into the regular weekly drawings, the promotional monthly drawing and the promotional Grand Prize drawing. Winning a weekly drawing or promotional monthly drawing does not affect eligibility for the Grand Prize drawing. Players can submit eligible and appropriate codes into both drawings. Players may not submit more than 500 codes for 2nd Chance per calendar month based on the Submission Limitation Policy. Learn more about the Submission Limitation Policy. These monthly and Grand Prize promotional draws will occur within fifteen (15) days after the end of each promotional month from January 2017 to June 2017 and the Grand Prize drawing will occur within fifteen (15) days after June 30, 2017 when the six-month promotion ends. These draws will take place in accordance with Lottery Regulations and procedures. Odds The odds of winning any Prize Package vary based on the total number of entries that are received and the total number of entries each player submits. Players may not win more than one Prize Package in each drawing. Eligibility and Participation Participants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Participants must meet eligibility requirements at the time of the promotional drawing. To enter the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion, participants must register as a player on the Lottery website. When registering, participants must provide a valid California address and enter submissions from a location within California to be eligible for California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion. Participants must provide true and current information. Failure to provide participant s full legal name at registration will make participant ineligible to receive prizes from the California Lottery. In the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion, only the person identified by name as the Prize Winner on the Lottery website at the time the Prize Winner s name is posted, which is supplied by the player during registration, may claim the Prize Package from the California Lottery. Any change in name, whether due to marriage or otherwise, must be reflected on the Lottery s registration page prior to the drawing in order to be eligible for any Prize Package. Persons who register with fictitious names will be ineligible to win any Prize Package. The California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion is not open to certain Lottery vendors or employees of the California Lottery or any of their subsidiaries, assigns, or their agents, and their family members residing in the same household. 4 P a g e
How to Win Players must submit their eligible, non-winning $1, $2, $3 or $5 Scratchers or all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes at least once during the promotional period in order to be eligible for the promotional monthly drawings and promotional Grand Prize drawings. The Prize Winners of the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion will be posted on the Lottery website within fifteen (15) calendar days after the draw is conducted. Using the contact information provided to the Lottery by the players, the Lottery will notify the Prize Winners by e-mail to login to their accounts for important information. All players must provide their true, full legal name when registering for the 2nd Chance program in order to be eligible for any Prize Packages. Upon login to the Lottery s website, the Prize Winner will be notified of the winning Prize Package. The Prize Winner will have one hundred eighty (180) days from the Winners Posted By date on the Lottery s website to submit the 2nd Chance Winner Claim Form to the Lottery. Once the 2nd Chance Winner Claim Form is processed by the Lottery, the Prize Winners will be notified by a representative from MDI to discuss the fulfillment and claim steps of the promotional Prize Packages. MDI is a California Lottery contractor who is assisting the Lottery in fulfilling Prize Packages. Additional Terms Participants are responsible for complying with these Official Rules in addition to state and Federal laws and California Lottery Regulations. Proof of age, eligibility, and identity must be furnished upon request. Participants agree to the Lottery s use of their name, likeness, photo, and hometown for advertising and publicity purposes, without compensation. Lottery prizes are not subject to California state tax. The Lottery is required to withhold federal taxes of 25% for all winners of non-cash prizes. Federal tax rates are subject to change. Retailer responsibilities and compensation are unaffected by this promotion.
