Honduras is Open for Business San Pedro Sula, Honduras May 5th - 6th, 2011 Honduras is Open for Business is the event that triggers the Honduran National Investment Promotion Program 2010-2014, and it represents the culmination of a thorough process of legal and institutional reforms aimed at relaunching Honduras as the most attractive investment destination in Latin America. During the event, the Honduran Government and the country s private sector will present, to the international community, the most modern and innovative legal framework for the protection and promotion of investments in Latin America, which includes, among other new generation elements, fiscal stability contracts, convertibility guarantees and new performance-based incentives, in addition to the existent cutting-edge tax regime in the country. Undoubtedly, Honduras will make available to both domestic and foreign investors, a package of laws and benefits that gather the richest experiences and lessons learned globally, an extraordinary geographical location, and a series of free trade agreements that connect us, in a highly competitive manner, with the major consumer markets of the planet. One thousand international companies, the most important ones in the world that currently hold investments in Latin America, have been invited to this event, event that will, without a doubt, serve as a meeting place for the region s investment community. One hundred investment projects in Energy, Infrastructure, Tourism, Manufacturing and Business Services, Agribusiness, and Carbon Bonds and Forestry, will be presented as investment opportunities to those 1,000 companies. Honduras is Open for Business is also an International Forum, a National Export Fair, an opportunity to hold Business to Business Meetings, and a moment to learn about and enjoy our country s unique natural and cultural wealth. We are the most attractive investment destination in Latin America, and our event, Honduras is Open for Business, will be the time to demonstrate it. Honduras is Open for Business will be the platform where new institutional facilities such as the One Stop Window and the Investor Protection Unit will be presented, as well as the progress made on the National Public Safety Strategy and the range of services to be offered under the Business Intelligence framework.

Honduras is Open for Business An International Business Forum The International Forum will develop the theme of New Challenges and Expectation of Latin America at a Time of Global Economic Change and Transformation, and we have invited renowned speakers to this event: former Colombian President, Alvaro Uribe Vélez, Mexican businessman, Carlos Slim, and the President of the Inter-Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno. We are confident that these guest speakers will make transcendental contributions on economic, political and social perspectives for Latin America in the coming years, which will in turn constitute themselves into important inputs for the companies participating at the event. Over the next few weeks, we will be confirming the presence of these guests, and detailing the particular approaches each will take in their presentations. Carlos Slim (Mexican Businessman) Luis Alberto Moreno (President of the Inter-Development Bank (IDB)) Alvaro Uribe Vélez (Former Colombian President)

The Biggest Export Fair in Central America Fifty of the most important Honduran exporters will present their products to the participating companies, testifying to a history of success experienced during the past 25 years. The textile, food, agriculture, aquiculture, forestry and mining industries will present their products, their productive abilities, and the strength of an ever-growing export process. Business to Business Meetings We hope that during Honduras is Open for Business, 500 business to business meetings will be held between invited companies and strategic local partners, government authorities, financial sector representatives and local suppliers. We believe that this facility will be the beginning of successful business relationships between local and international actors.

Situation Rooms The Honduran National Investment Promotion Program Honduras 2010-2014, has prioritized six productive sectors which will be subject to international promotion during the upcoming years. For each sector, we have enabled spaces called Situation Rooms where participating companies can have access to 100 investment projects and have contact with financial analysts, lawyers and technical experts in each matter, and they will be prepared to provide additional information about the investment projects. Situation Rooms are knowledge-facilitating instances where companies can find new, profitable and exciting investment opportunities in Honduras. We believe that the investors will find in these rooms expedite and straightforward means to discover the new Honduras. Where Honduras is Open for Business will be Celebrated The date is in San Pedro Sula, department of Cortés, the Honduran industrial city and the most important pole of economic growth in Central America. San Pedro Sula is a cosmopolitan, modern and vibrant city where more than 50% of the country s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is generated. We have world-class airport facilities, international chain hotels that will make your stay pleasant, and event locales that easily compete with similar facilities anywhere in the world. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortes Expocentro and the Arab Club in San Pedro Sula will be the host of these activities, offering a first-class, comfortable, safe, modern and elegant environment.

"We are the most attractive investment destination in Latin America."
