4 5 Dear Friend of Nova Labs, We started Nova Labs two years ago with a simple premise: to spread the joy of making things to as many people as possible. With the support of our ever expanding all-volunteer community, we have experienced tremendous growth and success. Here is a brief list of our accomplishments to date: We doubled our facilities to 3,200 sqft. Acquired professional grade fabrication equipment. Hosted over 500 classes and events that have drawn over 4,000 attendees. Developed and launched innovative STEM programs for children. Brought Maker Faire NOVA to the DC region. Helped over 50 people build their own 3D Printer. Helped companies launch and grow through our incubator program. Helped launch a UAV competition to help stop Rhino poaching in South Africa. Despite these accomplishments, the future of Nova Labs is being challenged. Due to metro-related development, Nova Labs will be forced to relocate. After months of research and deliberation, we entered into negotiations for a metro-accessible, state -of- the -art 10,000 sqft facility located in Reston. We believe this facility and location is optimal for supporting the growth of Nova Labs in Northern Virginia. While our ultimate goal is self-sufficiency and long term sustainability, current challenges outside of our control demand that we seek your support. 6 7 MEMBER SPONSORSHIP Sponsors can choose to provide special scholarship funds that would provide free memberships to eligible candidates in the Northern Virginia community. Women in Tech Membership: $5,000 Provide membership to 5 eligible women to help grow our community of women in technology. These members will receive all the benefits of full members at a discounted group rate available only to sponsors. Returning Veteran Membership: $5,000 Provide membership to 5 returning veterans to help them develop relevant skills and network with local technology professionals.
