PROGRAM Masters Circuit: Advanced Aesthetics and Lasers March 23-24, 2018 Directed by Mark B. Taylor, MD Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center Salt Lake City, Utah Course Description Attendees will learn the latest in dermatologic surgery through interactive chairside lectures and patient demonstrations onsite at a renowned dermatologic surgery practice. A comprehensive program will cover nearly a dozen therapies utilizing energy-based devices, injectables, and suspension sutures. A practice management component will also be included to enhance learners patient care delivery. Learning Objectives Following this activity, the participant should be able to: Explain the science behind and differentiate between available energy-based devices, including basics of device components, principles of device technology e.g., wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, etc., effects of different types of energy amplification on skin tissue, and overall energy-based device principles. Demonstrate advanced understanding behind the science of available injectable materials such as hyaluronic acids, poly-l-lactic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite and neuromodulators. Recite the different modalities available for treatment of aesthetic concerns including but not limited to skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, compartmentalized fat, volume loss, skin clarity and overall appearance, facial symmetry and general cosmesis. Formulate appropriate treatment plans using injectables and energy-based technologies to achieve optimal aesthetic outcome in patients of all skin types. Implement practice management methods and processes to foster safe and efficient delivery of patient care.

Continuing Medical Education Information ASDS CME Mission The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) is an organization whose primary purpose is to promote optimal quality care for patients as well as support and develop investigative knowledge in the field of dermatologic surgery. The Society carries out this mission in order to further the interests and needs of the specialty, with the underlying purpose of contributing to the delivery of quality patient care in the ambulatory setting. Accreditation Statement The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). ACGME/ABMS Desirable Physician Attributes / Competencies The ASDS acknowledges the need for CME content to be designed within the context of desirable physician attributes as expressed by the ACGME/ABMS Core Competencies and the Dermatology Residency Committee. Aligned with Criterion #6 of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education s Provider Requirements for CME, the ASDS has developed the content of this educational activity to address the ACGME/ABMS Core Competencies: Patient Care that is compassionate, appropriate and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health. Medical Knowledge about established and evolving biomedical, clinical and cognate (e.g., epidemiological and social behavior) sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care. Practice-based Learning and Improvement that involves investigation and evaluation of their own patient care, appraisal and assimilation of scientific evidence, and improvement in patient care. Interpersonal & Communication Skills that result in effective information exchange and teaming with patients, their families and other health professionals. Professionalism as manifested through a commitment to carry out professional responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles and sensitivity to a diverse patient population. Systems-based Practice as manifested by actions that demonstrate an awareness of and responsiveness to the larger context and system for health care and the ability to effectively call on system resources to provide care that is of optimal value. Disclosure of Relevant Financial Relationships The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery controls the content and production of this live CME activity and attempts to ensure the presentation of balanced, objective information. In accordance with the Standards for Commercial Support established by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), faculty, staff and any others involved in planning the educational content and the significant others of those mentioned must disclose any relationship they or their co-authors have with commercial interests which may be related to their content. The ACCME defines relevant financial relationships as financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 12 months that create a conflict of interest.
