Criteria for Election All candidates must provide: Completed petition for office, code of conduct and leadership contract. This packet and its included information must be turned in to the election committee; Mr. Ainsworth, (Room 762) Ian Harrison, Walker Harrison, or Ben Campbell by April 11, 2017 at 3:00pm. If you can t find a member of the committee, turn it into the front office by the same date and time. Remember, you are able to turn your packet in before the due date Complete speech presentations will be turned in for approval by April 21, 2017 by 3:00pm to the election committee or front office. Speeches are approved by the election committee. Speeches will not exceed 2 minutes in length and the candidates may not adjust speeches after they have been approved. Any changes will result in a mandatory forfeit from the election. There will be an Informational meeting on April 7, 2017 during all three lunches. We will go over guidelines and speeches, as well as campaigning issues. Campaigning: Campaigning will take place from April 13 th to April 28 th 2017. You must have materials turned in in order to Campaign. You may place posters on school property; All materials must be approved and signed to indicate approval by the Administration. (Shari Warren) Use only masking tape, scotch tape or poster Tac materials for hanging posters. Do not place materials on windows. Keep all campaign materials positive and do not slander competitors. Do not cover or remove competitors materials. All campaign materials need to be removed by 3:30pm on April 28, 2017. Election Dates: All election assemblies will be no longer than 40 minutes ASB will speak at all assemblies. Speeches and Elections for the current freshmen class (up-coming sophomores); will be held on April 25th 2017 during 2 nd period. Teachers will take attendance for freshmen and bring them to the gym at 9:15 Speeches and Elections for the current sophomore class (up-coming juniors) will be held on April 26 th 2017 during 2 nd period. Teachers will take attendance for sophomores and bring them to the gym at 9:05 (Early Release) Speeches and Elections for the current Junior class (up-coming seniors) will be held on April 27 th 2017 during 2nd Period Teachers will take attendance for juniors and bring them to the gym at 9:15 For class council offices, the candidates receiving the most votes will be the president, the second secretary/treasurer. The following three runners up will be class council members.

Candidates Name: PETITION FOR CLASS OFFICE Current year in school or class 9,10,11 Office Petitioning for: 10,11,12, ASB To qualify for a Student Body Office or for a Class Office, a student must maintain a scholastic grade point average 2.5 or better each quarter without any F s and hold no other major office. Should an office holder fail to maintain an average grade point of 2.5 per quarter their removal from office shall be mandatory. I hereby have read the above statement and fully understand the qualifications of candidacy and the consequences if my grade point average should fall below a 2.5 per quarter. Contract for Student Council/ Student Body Officer Candidates: (Student name) My responsibility as a student leader at Nampa Senior High School includes being a positive role model for my peers. Students, faulty and staff, parents and community members form perceptions regarding the Nampa High student body based on my behavior. As a condition of running for/holding student office, I agree to at all times act in a manner that provides a positive role model for my peers and that demonstrates to parents, faculty, staff, and the community the high standards of the students that I represent at Nampa High. I understand and agree to meet the following conditions. I understand that breaking this contract will result in voluntary resignation or removal from office: 1. I will attend all classes unless legitimately excused as described under the school board policy. Any unexcused absence will violate this contract. 2. I will be on time to classes. More than four tardies each semester in all classes combined will be considered excessive. 3. I will interact with adults and students in a respectful manner. 4. I will adhere to all conditions of the contract required for all student officers. I will obey all school rules and comply with all policies. Student Officer Code of Conduct As a student officer, and a member of the student leadership class, I pledge my enthusiastic support to the goals and purposes upon which Nampa Senior High was founded. I pledge my support and interest to the entire student body, staff and administration, realizing that each and every person has individual needs and desires.
