Health 2020 For students in health care and rehabilitation Welcome letter Dear students We are glad that you have chosen to participate in the interprofessional course: Health 2020. This course is the starting module of the programme Health care Studies in Ghent. We welcome 22 Erasmus students from different disciplines within health care and rehabilitation. The programme is a combination of lectures, workshops, project work, site visits, assignments, group work and student presentations. The opportunity of benefitting from the expertise of the European countries and institutions is definitely an unique chance to broaden your perspective on the profession and will be an eye-opener in the work with other cultures. All Erasmus students arrive during the end of January 2017. You can connect already the coming weeks through the closed Facebook group. Kick-off, 1th of February 2017 As you were informed before, your presence during the kick-off is compulsory! We welcome you at on Wednesday 1 February at 9.30 hours till 17.00 hours at Campus Kantienberg to start your exchange period. Health 2020 The module consists of two parts: Preparatory assignments by independent learning Mid-January 2017-1th of February 2017. The aim is to do some preparatory work@home, to become acquainted with your exchange Ghent and to start networking with other Erasmus students through e-mail and Facebook. Programme Health 2020 1th of February 2017: kick-off and start of the programme and introduction to language and culture. 6 th 17 th of February 2017: contact education 26 th of April 2017: meeting during international staff days During the kick-off you will also receive all information on the different modules of your personal Erasmus programme. Furthermore, we will take care of necessary organizational, practical & administrative matters related to your Erasmus period in Gent, such as: fill out and formalize documents you need for your clinical placement, your stay in Gent, your home institution, give you all necessary information on your clinical placement check out public transport possibilities plan an appointment with the international office to get registered plan your medical check-up
In the programme HEALTH 2020 we focus on the exchange of ideas and experiences concerning health care issues. The contact programme is a combination of lectures, workshops, project work, site visits, assignments, group work and student presentations. Teachers and guest speakers from the clinical practice will work with you during the different workshop and lectures. During these weeks we make different site visits to different institutions. The visits will give you a broader perspective on the development of healthcare and rehabilitation in Flanders. A day-project with elderly in Ghent is planned as well as a workshop with children in a local pre-school. During the second week, you will work in a smaller, interdisciplinary team on one specific innovative topic. The course is a survival kit to start your clinical practice during your Erasmus period in Ghent. The course consists of 20 hours of contact education: 8 hours of formal education and 12 hours of activities.
Introduction on Facebook You will be invited to join a Facebook group of HEALTH 2020-students Artevelde Ghent 2017. We would like you to introduce yourself by means of a picture of your childhood and a recent picture, a short story about your person, background, and interests etc. Cultural evening On Monday 6 th of February at 19.00 hours, we will organize a welcome dinner and Intercultural Evening. It will be an evening to have fun together while discovering things about each other s countries. It would be nice if you could bring something from your home country: traditional food (sweets, cakes, etc.) or drinks; traditional music (10-20 songs/country, MP3 format); promotion materials (flags, posters, flyers, brochures, pictures etc.) small traditional objects (small music instruments, small pottery etc. whatever you consider representative)
