Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Mission We prepare professional nurses to deliver quality, safe patient care in a dynamic health care environment, through patient advocacy and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. About Our Program Our Associate Degree in Nursing is a 2-year program that combines course work in general and nursing education courses with clinical experiences in a variety of area facilities. All clinical experiences are supervised by experienced nursing faculty. Graduates are strongly encouraged to transfer to 4-year universities to complete their bachelor's degree in nursing through enrollment in RN-to-BSN programs. Our Program Is Accredited Our Associate Degree in Nursing Program is accredited by the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas and by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Our graduates are eligible to take the state licensure exam (NCLEX) that, upon successful passage, grants the credential of Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN).
