2013 Student Vice President Leadership Summit General Information and Application Guidelines Dear Phi Kappa Phi Student Vice Presidents, As a Student Vice President on your campus, we know you believe in recognizing honor and excellence. What if you could enhance your leadership skills while helping to influence a nationwide commitment to academic excellence? If this sounds appealing, please consider joining us for the inaugural Phi Kappa Phi Student Vice President Leadership Summit. The Student Vice President Leadership Summit will bring Student Vice Presidents together over the course of a weekend to engage in personal and organizational development. Participants will learn about strategies for operating and maintaining active chapters of Phi Kappa Phi. In addition, Student Vice Presidents also will have the opportunity to participate in a one-day training program, LeaderShape s Catalyst, which is based on philosophies about leading, inner work, and connecting with others. Catalyst will help individuals explore their strengths and interpersonal style, while increasing their capacity to lead. Participants will leave the Summit with valuable skills for personal growth and enhanced chapter leadership. The 2013 Student Vice President Leadership Summit will be held July 26-28, at the Cook Hotel on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. Applications for this outstanding leadership opportunity will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until May 15, 2013. Space is limited, so please apply early. As a Leadership Summit participant you will have the opportunity to: Make a difference in your chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Bolster your leadership skills Enhance your resume Each chapter will be responsible to cover a $100 non-refundable registration fee to send a Student Vice President to the Summit. Travel, meals, and double-occupancy accommodations will be covered by The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. In order to be considered for the Student Vice President Leadership Summit, members must be: A current Phi Kappa Phi Student Vice President An active member of the Society (dues paid) Returning to campus as a full-time student for the Fall 2013 semester Nominated by your local chapter (nominations are limited to one Student Vice President per chapter) What we need from you: Completed application and one-page résumé (with current contact information) What we need from your chapter: Letter or email of nomination from your local Phi Kappa Phi chapter president A completed Chapter Registration Form and $100 non-refundable payment Students should email the completed application and résumé to jcarlson@phikappaphi.org with the subject line Student VP Leadership Summit by May 15, 2013. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email.
