2:30 PM Registration and Voting Certification Check in at the Registration table in the lobby to pick up your convention name tag, meal tickets and official program. If you have not registered yet, you can do it at this time. Then proceed to the Certification table. Each club secretary will be sent certification forms from MD19 for the number of votes they are allowed based on their club membership. These forms are given to their club s voting delegates and must be signed by the club secretary or president. The delegates present these delegate forms to the certification staff in the registration area for verification of the voting delegate prior to Noon on Saturday April 1st. This verified voting delegate form is given to the election staff during voting which begins at 3:30 PM. Delegates will be voting for the following positons: 2017-2018 District Governor 2017-2018 1st Vice District Governor 2017-2018 2nd Vice District Governor 2017-2018 Multiple District Vice Council Chair 2017-2020 Northwest Lions Foundation trustee The District Constitute and ByLaws (C&BL) have been revised based on mandatory changes required by LCI. To incorporate these changes and align our C&BL with LCI, our current C&BL have been reorganized with several exhibits added to assist Lions in required functions having to do with election procedures and the requirements/processes to run for office. This new Constitution and ByLaws will be submitted to District C Lions voting delegates for ratification on April 1st. 6

This hands-on interactive session will walk you through developing ideas and communicating effectively to engage local young professionals in Lions service activities. 4:30 PM District C Cabinet Meeting Everyone is invited to participate in our 3 rd and final Cabinet meeting of the year from 4:30 to 5:30. Our International guest Jermone Thompson will join us. Welcome by the Honorable Kim Wyman, Washington Secretary of State Keynote Address Richard LeMieux: Imagine a World Without Homelessness One Homeless Man s Inspirational Journey Our luncheon Key Note Speaker, Richard LeMieux, authored Breakfast at Sally s. Homeless while he wrote this book, he captures the inspiring stories of homeless people in Bremerton, Washington, many who ate breakfast at Sally s, the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. From the Preface of the 2009 edition of his book he writes: Seven years ago I was a homeless man. I felt I didn t have a friend in the world and I wanted to end my life. I know now that these small miracles can help others. Today, my life, well, is so unreal. Richard will share his struggles and adventures accompanied by Willow, the wonder dog. Join Richard at lunch when we eat Breakfast at Sally s. A donation envelop is on your table should you be moved to give to his Foundation, in lieu of an honorarium for his presentation. 2:00 PM Afternoon activities Hands on Service Project at the Thurston County Food Bank Warehouse Carpool to the warehouse, just a mile away, for a tour and hands on service project to support the hungry in Thurston County. See our food drive donations at work. Seminar: Did you know about these Lions Projects? Short presentations with Q&A with our cabinet chairs for CARE (Canadian, American Relief Everywhere), HEARING, Lions Clubs International Foundation, LEOS and NW Lions Foundation. 3:30 PM Voting Certified delegates cast their votes for the 2017-2018 District Governor, 1 st Vice District Governor, 2 nd Vice District Governor, Vice Council Chair, 2017-2020 District C trustee to the NW Lions Foundation. Vote on the Constitute and ByLaws changes to our District s governing document. 11
3:30 PM Wine Tasting and Reception Join us for an afternoon snack of cheese, crackers and fruit paired with 3 varieties of locally bottled wines. Clubs and individual Lions have graciously provided the food while Hotel RL has sponsored the wine tasting. Our International Director Jerome Thompson joins us for an informal chat with the opportunity to ask him questions. He promises straight forward answers! Here is a bit of background about ID Thompson------ Jerome Thompson, from Moulton, Alabama, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of Lions Clubs International at the association s 98th International Convention held in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 2015. Director Thompson is an attorney. A member of the Moulton Lions Club since 1989, he has held many offices within the association, including club secretary, club treasurer, club membership chairperson, district governor, district public relations & Lions information chairperson, district GMT coordinator and multiple district GMT coordinator. In recognition of his service to the association, Director Thompson has received numerous awards, including the Membership Key Award, three Leadership Awards, two Extension Awards and four International President s Awards. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to his Lions activities, Director Thompson is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including President of the Lawrence County Alabama Bar Association and member of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. Director Thompson has two sons. 12
