ROTARY CLUB OF BELPRE 2014 Rotary Make A Difference Scholarship & Rotary Make a Difference Dick Thomas Scholarship" Belpre High School Student Information Sheet ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP Purpose: To provide assistance to high school seniors at Belpre High School who in the judgment of the Rotary Selection Committee, possesses the qualities honored by Rotary in Service Above Self and demonstrates the ability and desire to make a difference in their community. There are two scholarships that will be awarded to Seniors of Belpre High School, Rotary Make a Difference Scholarship and Rotary Make a Difference Dick Thomas Scholarship. The Rotary Club of Belpre will award a one thousand dollar ($1,000) Tuition Scholarship to two Belpre High School Seniors to any college of their choice for the Fall Term 2014. REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING Minimum GPA of 3.0 during last two years of high school. Provide one completed copy of the Rotary Scholarship Application form to your Guidance Office by 8 a.m. on April 15, 2014. Obtain a copy of current Transcript from your Guidance Office Complete an interview with the Rotary Scholarship Selection Committee. (Arranged and scheduled through the high school Guidance Office.) Must enroll in a four-year college program. INTERVIEWERS WILL BE EVALUATING Civic Responsibility, Character, Initiative Applicants must have demonstrated leadership in community-based organizations/projects, school, and/or church activities. Sustaining community service is a major consideration throughout all four years of high school. Applications need to show commitment to personal growth and development through active participation in curricular and extracurricular programs and events in high school. Applicants need to demonstrate ability to communicate effectively. PROCESS Your Guidance Office will receive your application and schedule interview times with the Rotary Contact.
