P a ge 4 L ove Link Mondays, Feb. 9, 16 & 23 Bible Study at 10:00 a.m. Our study will be on the Book of Ruth: "Your God. My God. A True Story of Love & Redemption." Tommy Nelson, author, pastor and teacher, will lead us through this compelling story of romance and redemption. In this journey we will learn: the character of a great woman, the character of a great man, how to find God's will for your life, more about your Redeemer, our King. Ruth needed a redeemer. We all need a redeemer! The Topics covered will be: The Gospel of Ruth Though None Go With Me Ruth's Character How to Bloom A Picture of Redemption Ruth's Cause From Death to Life Restoration & Renewal Don't Miss the King Something to think about: We teach what we know; we reproduce what we are. Leadership development is a life-time journey--not a brief trip. -John Maxwell Thursday, Feb. 12 at Noon Valentine's Party with "The Hat Lady" Wilma Quist Come and enjoy our guest speaker Wilma Quist in her Christian comedic performance. Her program will be on the character of Minnie Pearl. The menu will consist of a variety of soups, mixed salad, rolls, and crackers. We will enjoy cupcakes for dessert! Invite your friends for a delightful, fun event that will lift your spirit. Please sign up by Feb. 8 for planning purposes. Tuesday, Feb. 17 Travelogue China Rising China is a country steeped in history and tradition. Beijing is the Capital, where the Forbidden City--Tiananmen Square occurred. The Great Wall is just north of the city. The Great Wall is 4,000 miles long, stretching from the Yellow Sea, or the East China Sea, to the western barrens where the Wall is now almost unnoticeable, almost indistinguishable in the landscape. In those far reaches of China the Wall is now only a few feet high in some places, its stones and brick having been scavenged for other building projects. North of the Capital of Beijing it has been restored and this is the part of the Wall most often visited. Everywhere there are tourists by the hundreds. They are Chinese tourists: not so many are foreigners. The Chinese in great numbers are visiting all the monuments and historic places in China today. On the Great Wall (which the Chinese call the Long Wall) people are everywhere Chinese tourists. In contrast to the antiquity of China we'll see much of a burgeoning economic expansion...ultra-modern cities, expensive shopping, traffic congestion, and perhaps most surprising, huge farm operations with giant tractors producing corn, soybeans and other crops on private farms...not Government collectives as in the past. China is now the second largest economy and still expanding. Its rate of growth is slowing now to single digit percentages rather than the double digit rate it has sustained for two decades. It is still a Country worth watching, and a Country worth knowing. It should be a very enlightening travelogue! We will meet at church at 6 pm!

L ove Link P a ge 5 Coopersville-Marne Railway Santa Train - FREE RIDE! A Life Group from our church thought up the idea to offer a free train ride to the church, Kids Hope USA mentors and students, and the Coopersville community. They weren t sure if people would be interested and if it would pay off. We re happy to announce that it was a HUGE success. The train was filled to capacity (and beyond-shh!). People were lined up down the street, and some willing men even gave up their seats for children to be able to ride. There were so many thankful and appreciative people, and everyone had a wonderful and memorable time. Thank you to those who made the FREE train ride possible. It was a wonderful Christmas present and brought joy to so many!
