3 $1000 Scholarship Chapter 216 is increasing the value of the Oscar Rath Scholarship to $1000.00 for 2017. This scholarship honors Dr. Oscar Rath, who during his lifetime, was a professor at Westchester Community College, an active Chapter 216 member, and a lifelong advocate of learning for those working in the manufacturing field as well as those just starting to pursue the field of manufacturing as a career. In 2017 one $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a current Chapter 216 SME member, student member, a current member s child, or a current member s grandchild pursuing a technical or scientific education. Scholarship applications are due by May 31, 2017. Scholarship application forms can be downloaded from the Chapter 216 website at http://connect.sme.org/c216/home. Click on the scholarship heading. Applications can also be obtained by contacting: Mike Allen, Scholarship Chairman (914) 769-5506 - Fax (914) 769-5602 Of course, it is necessary to raise funds to provide scholarships. The earlier this money is given, the more interest it can earn. That also helps the fund grow. When you make your donation, ask if your employer will match it. Without the support of your generous giving, awarding these scholarships will not be possible. Here is my contribution to the 2017 Oscar Rath Scholarship Fund.
