What is it? Competitive volunteering grant scheme Funded by Welsh Government Administered by WCVA
What is it? The aim of the scheme is to: Support formal volunteering projects that aim to recruit, support, train and place new volunteers Support volunteering projects working towards meeting the Volunteering Wales Grants themes (based around Welsh Government s Volunteering Policy).
Themes The Volunteering Wales Grants themes are: Young people (age 14-25) Welsh language Tackling poverty Underrepresented Groups (BAME, Asylum seekers etc) Social exclusion Higher support needs
Who can apply? Organisations can apply if: it is not-for-profit and independent of government and private sectors the proposed project /activity takes place in Wales (employment outside Wales is not supported under this grant scheme) it is an organisation using volunteers to benefit the community the proposed project recruits new volunteers. the proposed project will meet the themes of the scheme your project will begin on 1st April 2017 and finish on 31st March 2018.
Who cannot apply? Organisations that cannot apply: Political organisations Public sector organisations e.g. local authorities, schools, local health boards CVCs or Volunteer Centres Private organisations
Budget The maximum you can apply for is 20,000 Match funding is not required but if you do have match funding please provide details Budget headings include: Training: Volunteers, Committee, Staff Expenses: Volunteers, Staff Accommodation: Rent & rate, Energy & water Office Costs: Stationery & postage, Telephone, Accounts Salaries, National insurance, Pension Equipment Other costs e.g. DBS checks for staff *This is not an exhaustive list other costs can be considered
Helpful Tips Make sure the budget is: accurate correctly calculated appropriate clearly explained The budget is provided as a downloadable document with the online application. Once completed the document is uploaded to the application. Only budgets on the correct template will be accepted.

Helpful Tips Make sure all the key documents are included -Check the Documents Advice for Applicants document Ensure the documents are the most up to date versions Ensure documents are signed and dated by two members of the Board / Management Committee
Key Information We are anticipating that the application round will be highly competitive Minimum score questions- require a minimum score of 60% in order for a full assessment to take place. We do not fund activities that are undertaken as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification, or any other compulsory community work required for education or employment such as work experience for degree courses or diplomas.
