JOB SPECIFICATION APPLICATION PACKET BOOKING SPECIALIST CURRY COUNTY ADULT DETENTION CENTER The attached documents must be filled out completely and returned to the Personnel Office. The office is located in the Courthouse at the Curry County Administration Office. This is a summary of instructions and you must complete every question for the specific job you are applying. 1. The application should be filled out completely. All applications taken by this entity are by law public record and will be handled as such. Be sure to include your valid driver s license number. On the Employment History, list the last (5) employers. Most of our processing is done by mail so you must give complete and correct mailing addresses. If you prefer us to not contact your current employer, please let the Personnel Coordinator know when you return your application. 2. The Personal References on the back of the application must also have complete and correct mailing addresses and telephone numbers. Please make sure you read the disclosure statement and sign the application. 3. Read the Position Specifications carefully. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS POSITION TITLE: BOOKING SPECIALIST DIVISION: CURRY COUNTY ADULT DETENTION CENTER REPORTS TO: SHIFT SUPERVISOR-DETENTION CENTER CLASSIFICATION: CLASSIFIED REVISED DATE: DECEMBER 4, 2014 WAGE LEVEL: MIN $10.803 to $13.503 MID PER HOUR DOE/DOQ POSITION SUMMARY: Overall clerical maintenance of inmate s custody files and all documentation dealing with the inmate and Detention Facility. Responsible for the overall operation of the Booking Room and Facility File Room. Responsible for the booking and initial classification of all new inmates and all related files dealing with the inmates. Responsible for receiving and recording all incoming medication for inmates, monitor inmates and visitors during visits and complete necessary paperwork for visitation, and all other essential duties listed herein, but not limited to this listing only. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older. 2. High School diploma or GED certificate. 3. Must be legally residing in the United States. 4. Must have vision correctable to 20/20, and no color blindness. 5. Successful passage of physical examination, background investigation, and polygraph, if needed. 6. Complete all required paperwork for booking and processing an inmate into the facility, i.e., rules and regulations, good time, and use of inmate I.D. number. 14. Processing and figuring of good-time credit for inmates sentenced. 15. Operate and properly input information into the facility computer systems when booking, receiving or releasing inmate s property or money, when releasing a inmate from the facility, and inputting of arraignments and appointments.

16. Monitor and assist Detention Officer with inmates in the booking area by visual monitoring only. 17. Must be able to do normal administrative duties such as filing, distribution of documents, telephone techniques, and etc. 18. Must perform all duties with minimal supervision. May be required to work irregular hours, attend job related meetings, and perform other related duties as assigned. 19. Verify through review of appropriate written documentation that inmates booked in, released, or held legally. 20. Responsible for maintaining daily log. 21. At the Adult Detention Center we have multiple and you will be assigned to one of the shifts, you may be assigned to a different shift with seventy-two (72) hours notice. You may also be required to work 12 hour shifts. This does not apply when we ask you to work overtime. 23. 24.
