Please check the school web site frequently as scholarship information and deadline dates will be updated on a regular basis. OCTOBER Wendy s High School Heisman - thletes are encouraged to apply online at www.wendysheisman.com. pplicants must have at least an 85 average and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport. First 1,000 applicants receive a $10 Wendy s gift card. Scholarships ranging from $1000 up to $10,000 will be awarded to state and national winners. pplications are due October 2, 2017 at 6pm ET. VFW Voice of Democracy - Prizes and scholarships awarded at the local, district, state, and national level. Open to students in grades 9-12, applicants need to record an original 3-5 minute essay and submit it to a local participating VFW Post. NOVEMBER Prudential Spirit of Community wards - a community service award. State-level winners receive $1,000, a medallion, and all-expense paid trip with a guardian to Washington, DC in the spring. Elks 2018 Most Valuable Student - Five hundred 4-year scholarships will be awarded. Cooke College Scholarship Program is available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. DECEMBER Burger King Scholarship - Seniors may apply for scholarships from $1,000 to $50,000 that will be awarded nationwide. Footlocker Scholar/thlete Scholarship awards 20 $20,0000 scholarships to student athletes that demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills. 2017 NFIB Young Entrepreneur ward - Given to graduating seniors who operate their own small business. Scholarships are valued between $2,000-$15,000. Demaris Smith Desimone Scholarship (DR) is to financially assist deserving high school seniors in acquiring a higher education in United States History in the amount of $1,000. New York State DR Scholarship is to assist deserving high school seniors in acquiring a higher education in a college or university in New York State. Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship Program offers scholarships to graduating seniors in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. pply online at https://www.rmhc.org/rmhc-us-scholarships by January 17, 2017. Union Plus Scholarship Program - one-time award ranging from $500-$4,000 for children of union members. wards will be based on academic ability, leadership, social awareness, financial need. FEBRURY 2018 National FF Scholarships - One application located at www.ffa.org automatically enables 1) a current FF member OR 2) a high school senior or current college student pursuing an agriculturerelated or science program to apply for a variety of company or service scholarships. lthough a majority of the scholarships are specific to agriculture, there are over 100 scholarships with various criteria available. Elks Legacy Scholarships - Legacy wards of $4,000 ($1,000 for each year of college) are available to seniors who are a son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, grandson, or granddaughter of an Elk who has been a member in good standing since pril 1, 2015. pplicants must have taken the ST or CT, have a strong academic record and strong participation in extracurricular activities. pplications may only be submitted online at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/ and are due February 2, 2018. National Society Daughters of the merican Revolution - Most awards are for seniors enrolling at a 4-year college and are renewable for up to 4 years of study after review of the annual transcript. Most of the DR scholarships require a common application. Political Science, History, Government and Economics (majors) Scholarships, Nursing and Occupational Therapy Scholarships have a February 15 th deadline. dditional scholarships are available to deserving sons or daughters of DR members. There are also scholarships available for the study of business administration, music, law or graduate chemistry. More information at http://nywea.org/scholarship/. pplications must be postmarked by February 28, 2018. ssociation of Fire District State of NY Ned Carter/Past Presidents Scholarship - Four $1,500 scholarships will be awarded statewide to seniors entering a 2 or 4-year college to pursue a career of service to the community and are related to or are currently a firefighter in an affiliated member organization of the ssociation of Fire Districts of the State of New York. pplications are also available at www.firedistnys.com. Due by the last Saturday in February. MRCH Syracuse CPCU Scholarship awards up to $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors based on application and essay. pplication can be found in the Guidance office or on our website at http://ekcs.schoolwires.net/page/563. pplication should be submitted by March 1, 2018. Nihanawate Chapter DR Scholarship - wards $300 to a senior who will attend an accredited college or university. Scholarship awarded based on merit and achievement in the high school, community, and with regard to personal and academic interests. Essay is required with application and is due to chapter scholarship chairperson by March 1, 2017. Zonta Club - Jean M. Coon Humanitarian ward in the amount of $600 is awarded to a high school junior or senior for outstanding community service (academic achievement is NOT a factor). Young Women in Public ffairs Scholarship is a $400 award given to a senior woman entering a 4-year college seeking a career in policy making, government or with a volunteer organization. Both applications have a March 1, 2017 deadline. pplications are in the Guidance office or can be downloaded at http://www.zontadistrict2.org/. FSNY Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Volunteer Scholarship Program will be awarding twenty-five $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors entering college. The applicant or the applicant s parent/legal guardian must be a member in good standing with FSNY, and the applicant must be actively participating as a volunteer firefighter or junior firefighter, or participating with a volunteer EMS program. Northern NY Volunteer Firemen s ssociation Scholarship - Scholarships will be awarded to Northern NY Volunteer Firemen s ssociation members, their spouses, children and grandchildren pursuing a bachelor or associate graduate program and a full time student. pplications and additional information are in the Guidance office or online at http://www.nnyvfa.com/. Horatio lger Career and Technical Scholarship Program is awarding 1,020 scholarships up to $2500 each. SE Engineering Scholarships - The Society of utomotive Engineers (SE) offers a number of scholarships ranging from $1,000 to full tuition to qualified students who are interested in the field of engineering and related sciences. pplications are available online at http://students.sae.org/awdscholar/scholarships and are due by March 15, 2018. St. Lawrence Co. Chapter RP - scholarship of $500 is given to a high school senior in the county who has financial need and plans to attend a 2 or 4-year college. brief essay and willingness to speak briefly at an RP meeting in May are required. Due by March 24, 2017. North Country Goes Green Irish Festival Scholarships are open to students residing in Jefferson, Lewis or St. Lawrence counties. n essay of future goals is required. Vocational-Technical ward - wards of $1,500 will be given to seniors currently enrolled in a vocational-technical program who plan to further his/her education in a vocational-technical program. cademic Scholarship - Scholarships of $1,500 will be awarded to North Country seniors accepted into an accredited college program next fall. letter of recommendation and an essay are required. Scholarships applications must be received by March 30, 2017. FT Robert G. St. Lawrence County Trappers ssociation Scholarship will award one $500 scholarship to a St. Lawrence County senior who will attend college in a natural resource management curriculum. Delta Kappa Gamma - Scholarship funded by the local chapter, Gamma Epsilon, is awarded to a young woman entering the field of Education, in the amount of $600. pplications must be returned to the Guidance Office by pril 9, 2018.

Northern New York Community Foundation, Inc. Scholarships will be awarded to St. Lawrence County high school seniors. Selection is based upon academic achievement and personal data. Students attending technical schools are eligible to apply. The Rotary Purple Heart Scholarship is also available to military applicants who have received a Purple Heart ward or their dependents.
