Welcoming Academic Respectful Dynamic Ethical Daily Bulletin Friday, October 25, 2013 Schedule: 1, 2, HR (3), 4, 8, 7, 6, 5, 9 ATTENTION JUNIORS & SENIORS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, November 2 nd 6:00-9:00 at FWHS. Tickets will be on sale October 22 nd -24 th after school. Juniors- purchase your tickets from Ms. Kirchoff in the Small Gym. Seniors- purchase your tickets from Mrs. Nartowicz and Ms. Gomes in T-26. Permission forms must be filled out and signed along with guest forms when necessary. Forms can be found online (http://fairfieldschools.org/schools/fwhs/), in the Main Office, or outside of T-11 and T-26. Tickets are $10. ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS AND THEIR PARENTS: Homecoming Dance November 2, 2013 6:00 PM 9:00 PM No Tickets Sold at the Door The start time of the annual Homecoming Dance on November 2 nd has been moved up to 6:00PM at the request of some of our students who purchased tickets to a concert taking place on the same night in Wallingford. Our standard practice for dances is that students must arrive no later than 30 minutes after the scheduled start time (6:30 in this case) and may not leave until 30 minutes before the scheduled conclusion (8:30 in this case). Exceptions to this practice are made only in rare circumstances or in family emergencies. We do not consider the concert in Wallingford to fall into either of these categories. We ask that parents not request early dismissals from the event as that will make supervision and accounting for all students during the evening very challenging. We also urge student drivers and their parents to exercise caution and good sense driving practices if they are traveling to Wallingford after the dance. We do our best to provide a safe and fun-filled event and look forward to a memorable and safe weekend for all our students. VISION SCREENING Vision screening/scoliosis screening will begin on Monday, October 21 during homeroom. This will be ongoing through December. Please have the girls dress appropriately for the scoliosis screening. MOCK TRIAL Upcoming Mock Trial Meetings Meeting in Library Lecture Rooms A&B: Monday October 28 at 2:15-3:45 LIBRARY The library is now open after school until 4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Fridays, it will close at 2:30. Opening times remain the same, between 7:00-7:15.

We just received a new shipment of Camelbak water bottles, sweatpants and grey 1/4-zip sweatshirts. 9TH, 10TH AND 11TH GRADE PHOTOS Class photos re-takes on October 30th and 31st. SCHOOL COUNSELING, COLLEGE, AND CAREER NEWS ATTENTION SENIORS -COMMON APPLICATION Students using the Common Application to apply to colleges should be aware of this: All application payments are processed by a third-party vendor. In some instances, a record of payment is not transmitted back to an applicant's Common App account. This makes it appear to the applicant that the payment has not gone through when in fact it has. We have a daily process in place that reconciles the vendor's payment records with our own. Unfortunately, we are discovering that some applicants are paying a second time before we are able to update the original payment record in their account. We are working closely with our payment vendor on a solution. Given the issues that some students experienced with the payment submission process, we want to help ensure that all students who think they have submitted an application have actually submitted. Please have your students confirm that their applications have been submitted by checking their Dashboard. There will be a green check mark in the "Application" column for each submitted application.
