4 MSD - INVENT. IMPACT. INSPIRE MSD: Be part of the best MSD s graduate programme is a three year on-site work placement programme designed to develop industry-leading professionals. MSD Graduate Programme 3 year graduate programme Leverage global network with international experience Active management and mentoring Training on core professional skills Programme graduation Mandatory assignments Elective assignments

MSD - INVENT. IMPACT. INSPIRE 5 MSD: What some of our people say ART O CONNOR University College Dublin Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering Graduate MMLDP The MMLDP (MSD Manufacturing Leadership Development Program) is a 3 year manufacturing and leadership development program designed to develop emerging talent for critical positions of increasing responsibility within the Manufacturing Division while contributing to key business initiatives that help our patients and customers. The program includes three tracks; operational, technical and business. Each year a number of rotations are offered globally based on business needs. At the beginning of the MMLDP program I spent five weeks at the Elkton site in Virginia completing the MMLDP introductory Bootcamp. Here I worked in the vial filling building, on a project to map and consolidate the utilities crucial to maintaining a sterile environment. This was a truly great experience where I got to meet and interact with the other members of my program. I chose the technical track and my first rotation in the program was at Ballydine, Ireland where I worked as an engineer in the Process Development and Commercialization (PDC) group in the Drug Product area. While at Ballydine I had the chance to work on several projects, including hands on experience on the shop floor during development campaigns. One of the best things about my rotation at Ballydine was getting to see, and be part of, the process of commercialization; seeing how drugs are developed and progressed through clinical trials, then validated. For my second rotation I will be based at West Point (PA), USA where I will be working on lean manufacturing and supply chain design. My third rotation is yet undefined and I will be involved in deciding where that will be later this year. I would strongly recommend applying to the LDP program. My experience so far has been fantastic and the support from the managers and the buddy system allows priceless insight at different levels of the organization. MAIREAD RICE University College Cork Chemical Engineering Graduate Brinny I applied for the graduate programme as I had worked in Brinny on a six month work placement and I also completed my final year project in collaboration with Brinny. One of the great things about Brinny is the extensive experience people have and the learning experience you receive from working across the varied teams. The programme gives you huge insight into the work done at Brinny as you get 360 degree exposure to the business. Each project is different and I really enjoy the problem-solving involved in the technical and strategic projects we are assigned. I ve recently been appointed to Project Steward for one of MSD s lifesaving drugs, which is a challenging technical role but great experience and responsibility. I am the technical single point of contact for each manufacturing node covering not only work done in Brinny, but in all manufacturing sites as far as Heist in Belgium. My acceptance into MSD s General Management Acceleration Program (GMAP) has been the highlight of my time here so far. This programme will give me a chance to work in different parts of the business in Ireland, and around the world on international assignments. The best thing about MSD is the people not just in Brinny but across Ireland, as they are willing and eager to share information and develop graduates. It s an exciting, challenging and fun place to work.

INSPIRE 7 CAOIMHE O RIORDAN Brinny The MSD graduate program gave me a widespread understanding of the contributions of all departments to the safe and compliant operation of the site. I was rotated across different areas of the business and gained experience in both Technology and Operations. The fast pace work environment and the support offered on the program gave me skills and expertise that will allow me to transition to new opportunities with greater responsibility across the site. ERIN REIDY Brinny Every day is different on the graduate programme and there are lots of opportunities to enhance your skill-set by putting yourself forward for projects. Aside from the technical experience, contributing to the manufacture of safe, effective and life-changing pharmaceuticals is very rewarding. Experience I ve gained during the graduate programme allowed me to progress my career within Sterile Biopharmaceutical manufacturing in Brinny. This in turn has provided the opportunity to go on a year s assignment to MSD Singapore, where I am working with the technology transfer team to expand the manufacture of one of our top products in Asia. FRANK O GRADY Ballydine MSD look to build your technical knowledge and place you on challenging projects which makes it an ideal company for any graduate seeking exciting experience! You get to work in various departments with current supply products and new products on clinical trials, so you get a great sense of everything. It s a fast paced environment, but MSD also balance this with lots of sports and fun as there are a wide variety of clubs and societies to cater for everyone. AISLINN COGHLAN Brinny The graduate programme in Brinny was a great way to experience a wide range of different departments. Each rotation comes with increasing responsibility, and there is a fantastic support network to map your career throughout the process. I have since moved to the Global Engineering Solutions group, working across multiple countries to design and build new production facilities. After 2 years in London, I am now on assignment in Vienna, Austria. The company is expanding incredibly fast, and the opportunities for professional growth are endless.
