COMPUTER MATCHING SERVICE The Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) administers the Graduate Nursing/Midwifery Program Computer Match (GNMP Match) on behalf of the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS). This service is available to allocate newly graduated nurses and midwives into graduate programs at Victorian public and private hospitals/health services. The Matching Service provides a range of information for candidates and clinical centres on its website http://computermatching.pmcv.com.au/public/matches/gnmp.cfm Each candidate and health service must realise that the Service is conducted strictly and solely in accordance with the Business Rules, Code of Conduct, and Privacy Statement which are available to view on the Computer Matching Website. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Eligible candidates for participation in the 2017/2018 GNMP Match are: Victorian trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduates (citizen/permanent resident) Current Victorian resident Distance Education Nursing/Midwifery Graduate Interstate trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident) New Zealand trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident) Essential Criteria:- Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian 'permanent residency status' Have not previously participated in a Graduate Nursing or Graduate Midwifery Program at a hospital/ health service Completed nursing and/or midwifery degree in the academic year - January 2017 to June 2018 Note: There is only one GNMP Match per year. If you are completing your studies in the first half of 2018, you are advised to check the Hospital Directory or contact the Hospitals/Health Services about the availability of a mid-year graduate program. Consider when you will complete your course and when you will get your registration from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. HOSPITAL DIRECTORY There are four streams of programs for GNMP Match: Graduate Nursing Programs Graduate Nursing - Mental Health programs Graduate Midwifery Programs Combined Graduate Nursing and Midwifery Programs This information should assist you in your selection of hospitals/health services. You should carefully appraise all hospitals/health services in which you are interested for a graduate program. You can find important information about each hospital/health service that participates in the GNMP Match via the hospital directories on http://computermatching.pmcv.com.au/public/matches/gnmp.cfm. Each candidate must apply directly to the hospitals/health services, which they list on their Candidate s Priority List (hospital preferences), by Friday 21 July 2017 (or by the date advertised by Hospital/Health Service). Each hospital/health service may have a different application procedure so you will need to contact them directly for further information. IMPORTANT: Candidates should find out more about the health services and graduate programs to ensure you meet their selection criteria. To maximise your chances of being matched, candidates should: address the hospital application requirements carefully submit all required documents by post or electronically by the required date list and apply to four hospitals/health services for nursing graduates, consider programs in mental health, aged care and health services in rural areas Graduate Nurse / Midwifery Program Candidates User Guide 2017 Page 4 of 17

REGISTERING FOR ACCESS TO THE MATCHING WEBSITE 29 May REGISTRATION OPENS Step 1 Go to the computer matching website at computermatching.pmcv.com.au and click NEW USER? Register Here Step 2 Click on Are you a Candidate? Register here Step 3: Select Graduate Nurse / Midwifery Program (GNMP) Computer Match 2017/2018 All other matches are for medical doctor positions. Step 4: Select your eligibility criteria. Step 5 Nominate a username and password; this will be the login you use to access the Computer Matching site. Complete your personal details on the screen below and then click Register at the bottom of the screen. Ensure you enter a valid email address and phone number. You should receive an email as a reminder of your username and that you have ACCESS to the computer matching system. IMPORTANT: At this stage your registration is NOT COMPLETE. You have to complete additional details and nominate hospital preferences before your registration is finalised and you can be approved for inclusion in the GNMP match. CANDIDATE S PRIORITY LIST (CPL) 21 July FINAL DATE TO ADD PREFERENCES The Candidate s Priority List is your list of hospitals, in preference order, that you wish to be considered for in the matching process. To submit your Candidate s Priority List (CPL) - Login to the computer matching website Click View/Edit Application from the menu bar on the left of the screen and scroll down to Additional Details You will need to:- Select the name of your University from the drop down menu (or type it in below), Select the name of the course you are completing from the drop down menu (or type it in below). Enter your course completion date (Month/Year in MM/YYY format). NOTE: this is the date you complete your studies / placements NOT your graduation date Then you can select your hospital preferences from the next section. 1. You will see a Nominate Preferences (Candidate s Priority List) section with 4 options. Each option has a different colour for each preference. You can now start adding your hospital preferences. To enter your preferences:- o Click the SELECT button to the left of the preference list you are entering (i.e. 1, 2, 3 or 4), o Then scroll down the list of hospitals until you find the hospital and program you are interested in. o Click on the hospital name. Once you have nominated a hospital you can move to the next preference and repeat this process. Graduate Nurse / Midwifery Program Candidates User Guide 2017 Page 9 of 17
2. You can nominate a minimum of 1 preference and a maximum of 4 preferences. First preference is your most preferred hospital/health service to complete the graduate program. 3. You can change each hospital preference by o Click the SELECT button then click on either the Reset Selection at the top of the hospital list, or by simply clicking on the name of a different hospital Graduate Nurse / Midwifery Program Candidates User Guide 2017 Page 10 of 17
NOTE: If you are a Midwifery or Combined Nursing / Midwifery candidate you will need to scroll down to the relevant section for your degree. IMPORTANT: There are three streams of positions in GNMP Match Nursing (including mental health), Midwifery and Combined Nursing/Midwifery. Ensure you select the correct hospital and stream for your degree. For example: A Bachelor of Nursing student nominated these preferences:- 1. PMCV Hospital Nursing 2. PMCV Health Combined Nursing/Midwifery (This is ONLY valid for double degree students) 3. PMCV Collaborative Rural Program Nursing 4. PMCV Regional Health Service Midwifery (This is ONLY valid for Midwifery students) 4. You need to sign the Declaration the first time you submit your CPL online. Before you submit your preferences for the first time, you need to sign the Declaration. This signifies that you abide by the Regulations and Code of Conduct of the Match. To do this tick the box and enter the date. Tick Yes or No to indicate if you consent to your university receiving your match results then click on Save and continue. Review your details then scroll down and click on Submit to save your selections. Graduate Nurse / Midwifery Program Candidates User Guide 2017 Page 11 of 17
After you submit your preferences for the first time, your current registration status will now be CPL Pending. PMCV will review your registration. If you meet the eligibility criteria, PMCV will change your status to CPL Approved Changing Preferences You are able to add and change your preferences up to 21st July by selecting View/Edit Application from the left hand menu bar or the Edit your CPL from the Actions section. Please note, you cannot add any preferences after the 21st July 2017. From 31 July until 14 September you can only reorder and/or delete your existing preferences, or withdraw from the match. You CANNOT add new hospitals/health services to your CPL after 21 July 2017. To reorder / delete your preference; login, click on View CPL in read only format to move preferences up or down or to delete them. Note: If you delete a hospital from your CPL, you should contact them directly to advise that you are withdrawing your application. Withdrawing from the Match If you accepted a position outside of the Match or you are unable to commence your graduate program in 2018, you need to withdraw from the GNMP Match by 14 September 2017. To withdraw from the Match login to your account and click on Withdraw from Match from the bottom right of the screen under Actions. You will need to enter a reason for withdrawal from the match. You will receive an email confirmation when your registration has been withdrawn. Your registration status is now withdrawn. You will not be included in the GNMP Match. CPL Status After you enter your preferences your CPL status will change from Access Approved, to CPL Pending. Once the PMCV has verified your eligibility and your application is approved for inclusion in the match, your CPL status will change to CPL Approved. CPL status must be CPL Approved to be included in the match (please note at peak times it can take 2-3 days to approve CPLs). There are three stages before a candidate can be approved to participate in Computer Match: Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 3 Access Approved (automatic update) - successfully registered for a username Not inclued in the Matching process yet. CPL Pending (automatic update) - Submitted your preferences Distance education students need to submit supporting documents Not inclued in the Matching process yet. To be approved by PMCV. CPL Approved (manual approval by PMCV) Included in the Matching process. There are two other registration statuses: WITHDRAWN Match application withdrawn by candidate Candidate will not be included in the Match NOT ELIGIBLE Candidate applied to participate but did not meet the eligibility criteria PMCV will change the regisration to "NOT ELIGIBLE" Candidate will not be included in the Match Graduate Nurse / Midwifery Program Candidates User Guide 2017 Page 14 of 17
HOSPITAL S NOMINATION FORM (HNF) After the closing date for change of candidate preferences/withdrawals, 14 September, approved Hospital Admin users can log in to the PMCV Computer Matching Website and submit their Hospital s Nomination Form (HNF). Please note: The Hospital Admin User cannot see your Candidate s Priority List thus they do not know the preference ranking that you have given to any hospital / health service. Each hospital/health service submits a list of candidates in rank order for each graduate program they offer for Computer Matching. This list is known as the Hospital s Nomination Form (HNF) and is submitted via the online system. Each hospital/health service will assess candidates against their individual hospital selection criteria (assessment can be based on CV, application/cover letter, academic performance, performance at interview, clinical references, etc.) Where candidates are ranked by individual hospitals/health services is usually based on the strength of their application to that particular organisation. Hospitals/health services will decide where/if they will rank a candidate on their HNF. SUMMARY OF A HOSPITAL S PREFERENCE RANKING PROCESS To enter the HNF the approved Hospital Admin User (hospital/centre representative) enters a rank number next to candidate s name. NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS If you forget your username, you should contact PMCV before 10 Oct 2017 to find out your username so you can access the Match results via the Computer Matching account. Your Password can be reset by clicking on the Forgotten Password? link on the front page. The GNMP Match results are available via the Computer Matching website on Tuesday 10 October 2017 at approximately 10am. Candidates need to: Login in to your account Click the Match Results link from the left hand menu. Matched Candidates: If you have been successfully matched to a hospital/health service you will be presented with a screen showing which hospital/health service you have been matched with. This hospital/health service will then contact you regarding an employment contract etc. Important: If you are matched to a hospital/health service via the GNMP Computer Matching Service, this will be the only offer you will receive via the matching service. If you decline this offer you will not be eligible to receive any further offers from participating hospitals/health service. Unmatched Candidates: You will be presented with screen advising that you were not matched to a position via the matching service. Unmatched candidates will receive an email from PMCV with a list of unmatched positions available on the Match Results Day 10 October 2017. Unmatched candidates can contact and apply directly with the hospitals/ health services on the list. Health services with unmatched positions will receive a list of unmatched candidates with their contact details. Unmatched health services can make offers to unmatched candidates between 10 17 October 2016. From 12pm on 18 October 2016 A revised list of GNMP vacant positions will be available on Computer Matching website for unmatched candidates and other applicants looking for a graduate program position http://computermatching.pmcv.com.au Registration with PMCV is not required for accessing this list. 2017 GRADUATE NURSE/MIDWIFERY PROGRAM MATCH APPLICATION CHECKLIST From 29 May 21 July 2017 Check the GNMP Match eligibility criteria and make sure you meet the criteria for participation. Read the code of conduct and privacy statement of the Matching service in the About Computer Matching area of the website Register for a username and password at http://computermatching.pmcv.com.au. Make a note of your Candidate ID number. Some hospitals/ health services may also require that number as part of their application process. Read the Hospital Directory and check the application requirements for each hospital/health service you are interested in. You may also want to visit each hospital s website for more information. Select up to four hospital preferences. Enter the preferences online as your Candidate's Priority List (CPL) via your Computer Matching account. Submit an application with each hospital/health service listed on your Candidate's Priority List (CPL) as per their application requirements. Do not submit these documents to PMCV. For Distance Education Students who are Victorian Residents only submit supporting documents to PMCV (See: Information on submitting supporting documentation) Your CPL status has been approved (i.e. CPL Approved ) by Friday 21 July 2017. From 31 July 14 September 2017 Finalise your Candidate's Priority List (CPL) - the hospitals/programs and their order. To withdraw from GNMP Match, submit your withdrawal request via login. Check that you have received a withdrawal confirmation email and CPL status is changed to Withdrawn.
