There were over 500 participants in the Housing Management Days. There are circa 2500 housing managers in Finland. When calculated by the value of the apartments managed by the housing managers with their teams each of them manage over 60 million Euros in property. There are circa 700 housing management companies in Finland. Nowadays already 30% of housing managers are women. It is essential to be able to speak the same language with the entrepreneur. It is very common to hear that an entrepreneur doesn t dare to ask some questions because they are afraid to look stupid with their questions. If you get a good connection with somebody, there are no stupid questions. In South Karelia the neighboring region is the region of Leningrad and the distance to the metropolis of St. Petersburg is only 200km. Nowadays one can take the train Allegro and be in St. Petersburg in only 1,5 hours. Can Russia and Russian people be seen in the activities of your company and how? Yes they can be seen. Overall the meaning of Russian business gets more and more important in the operations of Finnish entrepreneurs. In addition to this, Russians entrepreneurs are starting to be an even bigger group. What do you consider to be the mission of the Federation? And what do you consider to be your mission as a board member? Isännöintiliitto has documented their missions in their vision and I was in the room taking part in the task force. I see the mission of the Federation very clearly. The knowhow of housing management, the respect towards the field and the clients satisfaction with housing management should be improved. The Finnish Real Estate Management Federation aims to challenge the agents of the field with their actions and to support the development. Our members range from one-person companies to national chains and there are a lot of people active in the regional organizations. It is challenging to consider every member and naturally everybody has different ways of supporting the Federation. I was chosen to be a member of the board as a representative of REIM Group but it is important to understand that in the meetings and activities the decisions need to be made according to the rules and goals of the Federation and in it we are developing the field of housing management itself. How does the cooperation between different organizations in the field of housing management work in your opinion and would there be something to add to this cooperation? After the Limited Liability Housing Companies Act was changed three years ago different organizations had clear conflict of interests and they even affected the whole field. After that the situation has changed towards better but it is still very clear that all the organizations have their own members and the aim of the activity is to support the benefit of the members. Of course this is how it should be. In addition to these conflicts of interests the organizations have common interests and it is desirable that in these cases the organizations would go forward together. For example energy control and taking care of the environment is everyone s preference. How do the regional housing management organizations work in your opinion and what is their main goal? I have been worried about the situation of the regional organizations. Naturally the largest and most active regional organizations have better resources to create good training and other activities to their members. However some of the regional organizations don t necessarily have the same values as the Federation has and I have a small fear that the activity and values of some regional organizations will go separate ways with the Federation s. Of course the recreational free time activities of the regional organizations are well-earned and very important from the point of view of the resources of housing managers but I do hope that the regional organizations would take the support they get from the Federation and would also concentrate on improving the know-how of housing management. Energy economy and taking care of the environment are benefits for everyone acting in the real estate business states the CEO of REIM Hämeenlinna Marko Hellevaara who is a strong influence in the Finnish Real Estate Management Federation.

The last period of her career she worked for Tilikarelia as a reliable and competent bookkeeper. According to her great career she had her official last day of work on 17 October 2013. Here are some pictures taken on the day. Colleagues from Tilikarelia gave Sirpa a ride from home to work in Rakuunamäki on a limousine. On the way to work Sirpa went on a swim in the cold water of Saimaa. Upstairs in the office building awaited a glass of champagne, morning coffee and a warmed-up sauna. After this Sirpa got a pampering procedure of several hours in a beauty salon and a drive home to get ready for an afternoon at the office in Rakuunamäki.
