AUTM 2017 Essentials of Academic Technology Transfer Course Preliminary Program About the AUTM Essentials Course The AUTM Essentials Course is designed for technology transfer professionals with 0-2 years of experience who are responsible for invention evaluation, intellectual property management, marketing and license negotiations. The course follows the life cycle of the invention, patenting, marketing and licensing process. The Essentials Course uses a mix of instruction, case discussions and small-group interactions to maximize useful learning and networking opportunities. Gain a better understanding of the fundamental goals and processes of academic technology transfer Learn different marketing tools and how to implement a variety of techniques to enhance overall effectiveness in your office Improve your evaluation and negotiation skills Explore various triage models and concepts that access critical evaluation information. The AUTM Essentials Course is interactive and includes plenty of case studies and examples. Questions and discussions will be encouraged. Added Value: AUTM Essentials Course registrants may attend sessions from the concurrent TOOLS Course curricula, maximizing educational value for each attendee s background, experience and interests, and broadening networking opportunities! Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) Demonstrate your expertise in the academic technology transfer profession by becoming a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP). All AUTM professional development courses and designated educational offerings and meetings are eligible for continuing education (CE) credits, which support your registration application. Specifically, you will learn the forces and factors to enable success, and the framework and context you need to do your job. Do your stakeholders even know you exist, and how do you promote brand awareness among them? An AUTM member attending either course may register one additional person from his or her organization at the reduced second registrant fee, saving $50. Processing Registrations AUTM will process course registrations only when they are accompanied by a check or include credit card information. Please note: Registration forms, with fees paid, must be postmarked (if mailed) or received by fax by August 18, 2017, to qualify for the discounted early rate. Registrations received after August 18 must be paid at the higher rate. To be considered preregistered, your registration, changes or substitutions must be received by August 18, 2017. Exclusion from Registration Lists When you register you have the option to opt out of registration lists shared with fellow attendees and meeting sponsors. Pre- and postregistration lists include your name, company, mailing address and phone number. The pre-registration list is posted to the meeting website for all registered attendees to access.
