Directorate of Field Publicity Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Government of India **** NOTICE INVITING APPLICATIONS FOR CONTRACTUAL ENGAGEMENT The Directorate of Field Publicity is the nodal organisation of the Ministry of I&B, with the mandate of publicizing the government s policies & programmes through the mode of interpersonal communication. To create a better impact, DFP has envisaged various schemes under the 12 th Five Year Plan, in which the compiling editors and senior editor/editor are to play an important role. Applications are, therefore, invited for contractual engagement for a total of 7 posts: as Compiling Editors (5 posts), Senior Editor (one post) and Editor (one post) in the Directorate of Field Publicity during 2014-15 and extendable subject to performance under XII Plan Scheme. Retired officers of Central/State governments may also apply. Educational Qualifications can be relaxed for such officers, if they are otherwise found suitable Out of the five Compiling Editors required, one each is to be located at DFP, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow and Kolkata. For the purpose of Content Cell, one Senior Editor and one Editor are to be located at New Delhi. Remuneration payable: Rs.25,000/- per month in respect of Compiling Editors, and Rs.25.000/- for Senior Editor and Rs.15,000/- per month for Editor. 1. Compiling Editors at New Delhi(1), Jaipur(1), Kolkata(1), Ahmedabad (1) and Lucknow (1) Responsibities: 1.1 Tasks to be performed by Compiling Editor at New Delhi: Over all coordination with Component Coordinators during 2014-15. Compilation of reports on various awareness activities of DFP during 2014-15. Coordination with NIC cell in updating data base regarding awareness campaigns and feedback analysis. 1.2 Tasks to be performed by Compiling Editor at Jaipur: Assisting the Component Coordinator i.e Joint Director, DFP, Jaipur through coordination with DFP Hqrs, Regional Offices and Field Units of DFP besides other concerned agencies for effective implementation of Special Outreach Programmes (SOP). Monitoring, field inspections, obtaining regular reports, analysis of feedback and preparation of final report etc in respect of Special Outreach Programmes.
1.3 Tasks to be performed by Compiling Editor at Kolkata: Assisting the Component Coordinator i.e Director, DFP, Kolkata in obtaining Conducted Tour proposals in coordination with DFP Hqrs and their submission to Ministry for approval. Monitoring and expediting the progress of Conducted Tours, preparation of final reports and expenditure statements. Updating data base of software (films etc.) on various themes available with Field Units and Regional Offices of DFP. 1.4 Tasks to be performed by Compiling Editor at Ahmedabad: Assisting Component Coordinator i.e Director, DFP, Ahmedabad in conceptualizing training modules for DFP officials. Coordinating with other Regional Offices in identifying officers to be trained and with Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi or other identified organization/s for arranging training programmes and preparation of reports etc. 1.5 Eligibility for all Four Posts above: o Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism or MA in Social Work or MBA/Post-Graduate in Rural Development from any recognized university/institution with two years of work experience in projects related to communication aimed at awareness generation, particularly in the fields related to IEC (Information Education & Communication) in social sector areas. o Age not above 65 years on the date of advertisement 1) excellent writing/spoken bilingual skills in English & Regional Language 2) basic computer operations such as Ms(word), Ms(excel), PowerPoint is 2) Compiling Editor at Lucknow (1 post): 2.1 Responsibilities Assisting Component Coordinator i.e. Director, DFP, Lucknow in procuring different kinds of audio-visual and other equipment as per prescribed rules. Overseeing their distribution among Regional/Field Offices of DFP, arranging payments etc to the suppliers. 2.2 Qualifications Graduation with minimum five years of experience in a government/reputed private organization in the fields of accounting/administration/procurement. Senior Editor at New Delhi for Content Cell, 3.1 Responsibilities of Senior Editor: Organize content/information/notes/summaries relevant for use in field communication programmes of DFP from time to time on different identified themes/schemes/programmes/policies of the Government of India.
