Presented a paper on Transportation Workforce Development: Attracting High School and Community College Students to Careers in the Transportation Field (09-3466) - E10, at 2009 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in January 2009 Advised an undergraduate research assistant Yannick Dwatie and a paper was presented on Transportation Logistics during the prestigious 2012 Transportation Research Board Annual meeting in Washington DC on January 24, 2012 Advised undergraduate research assistants Lasaha Walker and Stevan Lewis, PVAMU Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Recipients and a poster was presented on Nanotehnology in Concrete: How Sustainable Is This New Technology by these PVAMU students during the prestigious 2013 Transportation Research Board Annual meeting in Washington DC on January 15, 2013 Currently, conducting research on a NSF funded project on Capacity and Performance of Offshore Wind Towers and supporting 2 Undergraduate students (20 hours per week) every semester since Spring 2010 NSF funding is impacting students and enhancing their research and professional progress Very caring for the student development and their professional and career growth Positively impacted more than 1000 PVAMU graduates of PVAMU and is continually influencing and motivating PVAMU students to excel in studies and in profession GRANTS AND CONTRACTS Dr. Radha was Principal Investor on many projects totaling more than $1,080,000. Page 5 Serving as PVAMU Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program Coordinator, and every year organized Eisenhower Selection Panel, facilitated panel meetings, communicated with FHWA/National Highway Institute personnel in Washington, DC to secure Fellowships, advised interacted with fellowship recipients to conduct research, and present their results in Transportation Research Board Annual Meetings, have been successful recently and Presentations were made by PVAMU Eisenhower Fellows in January 2012 (Dwatie Yannick) and January 2013 (LaSasha Walker and Steven Lewis). Special Care for Students Promoted student motivation by inviting them and providing information related to career opportunities and summer internship opportunities. Discussed the industry demand for engineers in classes. Distributed technical articles of unique design and construction to enhance interest in learning the subject material taught in classes. Encouraged freshman students to become members of ASCE and participate in ASCE activities. Discussed in class practical applications of subjects being learned by students related them to the civil engineering professional practice. Supported the PVAMU Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and facilitated chapter activities and attended meetings. Encouraged freshman students to become members of ASCE and participate in ASCE activities.
